They're all incredibly common. South England.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 26/07/2020 23:40

2 x Theo (Age 7 & 4)
1 x Archie (Age 8)

1 dog called Alfie (Age unknown to me!)

We're North of England.

emilybrontescorsett · 26/07/2020 09:57

I think Archie and Alfie are more common especially with older children.

Grufallosfriends · 25/07/2020 19:49

South East here and Alfie, Archie and Theo are VERY popular among 0-5 year olds. Those names will date badly imo.

itsgettingweird · 25/07/2020 19:04

I know 1 Alfie. Work in a school with population of 100 pupils.

That's ages 3-19.

South coast.

South west. All these names are VERY popular the nursery I work in

17caterpillars1mouse · 24/07/2020 19:00

East mids here and they are all very popular, though Alfie especially so.

I have two preschool age children though and have come across all of the names at least 5 times in baby groups / at the library / Park, nursery etc

sweetnosugar · 24/07/2020 17:05

Lots of Alfie’s and Archie’s! No Theo’s though.

Poppydaisys · 24/07/2020 16:45

Very common and overused around here (Greater London).

Tinamou · 24/07/2020 16:40

My favourite is Archie btw.

Tinamou · 24/07/2020 16:40

I would describe all of these names as fairly popular but not very popular.

userabcname · 24/07/2020 16:37

South West. All popular. I'd say Theo is the most popular of the 3.

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2020 16:21

Theo wasn't all that popular in the UK until the 2000s when a teenager called Theo played for England.
Archie and Alfie have been popular since before that.

Theo is ok but there are so many, esp. if you count the Theodores.
Archie and Alfie are nn.

Just not my taste. I'm not keen on 'th' names, or nicknamey ones.

elp30 · 24/07/2020 15:37

I live in the US and I've never encountered any of the three.

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2020 15:37

I'm in the south east.

MikeUniformMike · 24/07/2020 15:37

All three very popular here and have been for years.
I'm not keen on any of them.

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 24/07/2020 15:35

I work in a primary school in the Midlands, Archie and Alfie are very popular, Theo not so

bluemoon2468 · 24/07/2020 15:29

London - all VERY popular. Theo and Archie more so with middle class parents, and Alfie is a very popular name used by working class parents where I live.

butterflycatcher · 24/07/2020 14:59

If you factor in the number of babies called Theo and Theodore, of which many will be shortened to Theo, then it is pretty much a top 5 name.

Alfie and Archie tend to be standalone names, so it seems probable that you are more likely to come across a Theo than either of these two names. However regional differences in popularity will skew this anyway.

The link ILoveStickers has provided allows you to look at the data mapped across the country. Very helpful.

On this page, you can type in any name in the current top 100 and see how many were born in your local authority in 2017:

NZ
Under 10 years.
Taught two Theo's, three Archie's and no Alfie's.

There's an Alfie just started at school with my youngest who's almost six.

Shelby762 · 24/07/2020 08:52

Thank you, so it seems the Alfie and Archie’s seem to be older like in school already not so much baby/toddler age.

SW - I know loads of Theos, mostly babies and toddlers. Don’t know any Alfies or Archies. Albie seems popular though.
