Sister for Alice

Alicehairband · 22/07/2020 16:23

Hi,

Dd1 is Alice and I absolutely love the name, it’s classic, elegant and feminine.

If I could, I would name Dd2 Alice too! But I just can’t.

Which name is in the same vein as Alice and would match well:

Hannah

Emily
Lily

Thanks all

I have 3 boys but if I had girls I would have called them Grace and Alice

My Alice is Alice Grace! I adore her name even 18 years on.

Biscuitsneeded · 23/07/2020 19:58

I'm thinking of all the Alices I know and their sisters are Daisy, Amelie, Rachel, Lauren and Fern.

If I was naming a sister for Alice I would go with Clara, Betsy, Molly, Polly etc

Of your three: Lily is pretty but there are so many of them. Emily ditto. I love the name Hannah and I like the fact it is a bit dated because it means there aren't so many of them.

AcrobaticCardigan · 23/07/2020 19:47

Emily is boring. (Like Emmeline though). Hannah is a bit dated - more 30 year old woman than baby. Lily is gorgeous and perfect match for Alice!

pilates · 23/07/2020 19:40

All lovely but Lily if I had to choose

pallisers · 23/07/2020 19:36

I have an Alice. If she had a sister she'd be Juliet. Possibly Sylvia.

Of the three you gave I'd say Lily.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 23/07/2020 19:30

Was going to suggest Grace before o realised you want one of the three in your OP. Emily gets my vote

Pinkypink · 23/07/2020 19:27

Emily

ButterflyOfFreedom · 23/07/2020 16:45

Emily from your list.

I know an Alice with a sister Isla.

paap1975 · 23/07/2020 15:39

Emily!

Flappingflamingo · 23/07/2020 15:36

In order of preference
Hannah
Emily
Lily

Whatsyourflava · 23/07/2020 15:28

Has this helped @Alicehairband

AldiFan · 23/07/2020 15:19

I like Emily. I think 'Alice and Lily' is a bit of a mouthful for people to say (too many 'Ls')!. I know an Alice and her little sister is called Lucy, which is also a lovely classic name.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 23/07/2020 06:38

Definitely Alice and Emily.

123Dancewithme · 22/07/2020 23:26

Hannah from your list. It’s more unusual nowadays. Emily is bland and Lily is overused.

CharlieBoo · 22/07/2020 22:50

I think Emily is the beat with Alice.. other I think go really well are;

Grace
Charlotte
Lucy
Sophie

NameChange30 · 22/07/2020 22:41

I agree with tempsperdu and lilypond.

These names would go better with Alice (and are all great strong classic names in their own right):
Emma
Grace
Lucy
Sophie

Magicbabywaves · 22/07/2020 22:36

Emily.

Although I think Beatrice and Elizabeth would work well. And Florence.

OttilieKnackered · 22/07/2020 22:30

Katherine/Catherine etc.

Shayisgreat · 22/07/2020 22:24

I prefer Lily but I think Hannah goes better with Alice.

bronzedgodesswannabe · 22/07/2020 22:21

I'm an alice and my sister is emily!!

worstwitch18 · 22/07/2020 22:20

All three work with Alice, in my opinion, but Hannah tips it for me because I knew a sibling pair called Alice and Hannah.

BikeRunSki · 22/07/2020 22:17

I know a few Alice and Lucy sister pairs.

Of your list, Emily, but I prefer Hannah, which sits well too.

Bubbletrouble43 · 22/07/2020 22:14

Alice and Lily go well

woodhill · 22/07/2020 22:08

Yes Emily

Pumpertrumper · 22/07/2020 22:02

Emily! It’s the only one that’s almost as classic and elegant as Alice.

Hannah and lily are both lovely but I know multiple children with those names whereas I only know 2 Emily’s and both are my age (mid/late 20’s).

It’s not rare but it’s not quite a common.
Especially lily, I know soooo many girls called lily. There’s 4/5 just in our tiny village.
