Try Mary

daisypond · 22/07/2020 07:49

Audrey by far.
Sylvie. But Sylvia is much better.
Marnie is twee as a full name, though fine if short for Margaret.

RaymondReddingtonMrs · 22/07/2020 07:40

Audrey 😍

AuntieStella · 22/07/2020 07:31

Sylvia

Audrey is going strong in Corrie, and one of the big/known characters who has been in it for decades (ie not flash in the pan)

Marnie is Ok (I just don't like it much)

Tinamou · 22/07/2020 07:22

Sylvie

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 22/07/2020 07:21
  1. Audrey (love this name)
  2. Sylvie

And ten miles down the bottom of the list, after every other available name has been used...

Marnie

ImAncient · 22/07/2020 07:16

Lovely names

Audrey reminds me coronation street not Hepburn- sorry

Marnie - Hitchcock ruined the name for me

I love Sylvie but I’d put Sylvia on birth certificate so she gets to choose when older.

I’ve a tricky awful name that sounds ok when little bit awful for an adult so I’m probably a bit biased.

VenusClapTrap · 22/07/2020 07:11

I have an Audrey so I’m biased. No one has ever thought it was Aubrey. People often say “Like Audrey Hepburn? How elegant”

sel2223 · 22/07/2020 01:00

Love Sylvie and Marnie

Audrey reminds me of Corrie

Linnet · 22/07/2020 00:50

Sylvie

LilacSloth · 21/07/2020 22:06

Sylvia/Sylvie

crazycatbaby · 21/07/2020 21:53

I love Marnie, it was on my list (not my husbands 😂), but we went with Evie instead.

QuantamBaby · 21/07/2020 21:48

Love both Marnie and Sylvie!

Audrey sounds a bit dated to me...

Smella123 · 21/07/2020 21:43

My dd is Marnie, I don’t know any others and get so many lovely comments about it. I’ve never doubted my decision :)

Spied · 21/07/2020 21:40

Marnie. Definitely.

123Dancewithme · 21/07/2020 21:39

Sylvie or Audrey. Don’t like Marnie at all.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 21/07/2020 14:04

Would Audra work if you’re worried about Audrey being similar to Aubrey?

CakeRattleandRoll · 21/07/2020 14:00

Sylvie (or Sylvia).

kittenpeak · 21/07/2020 12:36

Audrey is my fave by far.

I still consider Sylvie to be an "old lady name" (which I know are coming back but not sure Sylvie is quite there yet!

Marnie is a disgusting name. Don't do it to her

SEE123 · 21/07/2020 12:30

Audrey ♥️

PlantPotting · 21/07/2020 12:28

But yeah like I say I picked a name that's very similar to another (more popular) name and do regret it as it's annoying to correct people and end up spelling out the name

PlantPotting · 21/07/2020 12:26

AuBrey has been getting more popular every year if you look at the statistics and I know of two but it's still has a very long way to go before it's , say top 100. On current trajectory it'll be a good few years yet before Aubrey gets top 100-style popular so I doubt it'd be a massive problem for a good few years yet (if ever)

flooredbored · 21/07/2020 12:25

I don’t know why as I haven’t any negative associations, but I really dislike the name Marnie. I can’t quite put my finger on why, it just doesn’t sound like a full name to me. In some accents it does sound similar to Mardy to me.
