How many Rafe's do you know?

I asked recently how many Milo's you all knew. It's seems popular. The other name on our shortlist is Rafe so I'd be interested to compare. Thanks

None. Love it - and it's completely different to Ralph.
Know one Milo. Age 6.
South East Scotland.

JustOneMoreStep · 21/07/2020 21:39

Several Rafes at our school with a variety of spellings Im afraid. Conversely, no Milos in the school.

Pikachubaby · 21/07/2020 20:05

@moofolk you sounds charming and no chip on your shoulder at all Grin

123Dancewithme · 20/07/2020 19:23

None

moofolk · 20/07/2020 17:23

Smacks of entitled, posh little shit.

But I hate all of those type of names. If I hear of a kid called Sebastian or Tabitha I do a little bit of sick in my mouth.

pontiouspilates · 20/07/2020 17:16

Two babies and a 60 year old.

HarrietM87 · 20/07/2020 17:05

Wraith?! As in a ghost?! That’s awful - may as well call your child Zombie or Vampire 🤣

WellThatHurt · 20/07/2020 16:36

No rafe's but i know 2 wraith's. Wonder if its a local dialect thing though cause where im from the majority of people would pronounce them the same

catgames · 20/07/2020 16:28

One, a toddler. Not short for anything else. I like it.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 20/07/2020 16:14

1, he's about 10

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 20/07/2020 15:47

None ,but I was thinking if Ralph/ Rafa/ or Raphael 6 yrs ago before DS was born .
Ex DP couldn't agree on any of those though!
Love Ralph / Ralphie

Todaywewilldobetter · 20/07/2020 15:46

I'd have spelt it Ralph though. Unless it was short for something.

Pikachubaby · 20/07/2020 15:42

None,

But I know a Rafa and a Rafferty (both 16) and a Rafe of that same age but it’s pronounced “Rafe” but spelled differently

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 20/07/2020 15:41

One, short for Raphael. 16. Lovely kid.

thegreylady · 20/07/2020 15:40

One Ralph and one Raphael but no Rafe. I didn’t know that was a name. I thought it was an alternate pronunciation of Ralph.

HarrietM87 · 20/07/2020 15:26
  1. He’s about 10 months old and I think it’s short for Raphael or Rafferty (friend of a friend’s child)
Redlocks28 · 20/07/2020 15:23

I’m a primary school teacher and know quite a few. Never spelt like that though-always spelt Ralph, but pronounced Rafe.

Greywind1523 · 20/07/2020 15:21

I know a dog called Rafe but no humans.

Sarahbeans · 20/07/2020 15:16

One aged 16.

Whatsyourflava · 20/07/2020 15:13

Because of how increasingly popular names like Ralph Rafferty and Raphael are becoming if you look at the name chart trajectory (All of which might get shortened to Rafe later on), id personally avoid Rafe and pick Milo.

FunnysInLaJardin · 20/07/2020 14:11

Two, one is mine and is 10 and the other is 5 and at the same school.

I love the name obvs!

emmathedilemma · 20/07/2020 14:02

1, he's about 5

Giganticshark · 20/07/2020 12:59

None in the Northwest

2155User · 20/07/2020 12:23

None. It was my #1 name but DH didn't like it

Aquicknamechange2019 · 20/07/2020 12:21

Two. One is 8 months and the other is 9.
