Don’t like Romy but like Romilly.

Romilly and Rosa I like both equally.

Imcrc · 30/05/2021 06:52

Rosa

alexdgr8 · 30/05/2021 01:40

Rosa definitely. Romy doesn't sound like a proper name to me.

Lemonlemon88 · 30/05/2021 01:12

Rosa. You could go Rosemary though and have Rosa and Romy as nns.

Serpenta · 30/05/2021 00:38

Rosa is one of those names beloved on MN. I don't get it.

ofwarren · 29/05/2021 23:31

Rosa

Tillygetsit · 29/05/2021 23:13

Rosa by 1000 miles.

Devlesko · 29/05/2021 17:44

They are both very popular Romany Gypsy names, we've several in our family, so beautiful.

Fauvist · 29/05/2021 17:09

Definitely Rosa.

lebigface · 29/05/2021 17:06

Rosa is nice too but makes me think of Rosa Di Marco from Eastenders. She had great hair with one of those white streaks at front

lebigface · 29/05/2021 17:03

@CookPassBabtridge
Ah ok guess it's one of those names like Maya or Esme that everyone pronounces differently can see that could be annoying. I just thought it was pronounced Roamy tbh because of the film Romy and Michelle Grin

CookPassBabtridge · 29/05/2021 16:52

My friend was called Romy, said as "Rommy" but she always got called "Rome-y" and hated it.

SavannahLands · 29/05/2021 16:43

Rosa, it’s timeless and won’t give away her age as she grows into an adult.

lebigface · 29/05/2021 16:40

@RickiTarr that's interesting, can you explain why that is?

WhatAWasteOfOranges · 29/05/2021 16:21

If I had ever had a girl I would have called her Rosa after Rosa the Beautiful in the House of the Spirits

joystir59 · 29/05/2021 16:17

Romy. After a very beautiful German actress Romy Shneider

RickiTarr · 29/05/2021 16:15

Romy^

RickiTarr · 29/05/2021 16:10

Rosa. Roma doesn’t really work in an English accent.

lebigface · 29/05/2021 16:08

Romy

DariaMorgendorffer · 29/05/2021 14:37

Rosa

ILoveShula · 29/05/2021 14:31

Rosa or Rosie

Leeloo1233 · 29/05/2021 07:28

I love the name Rosa. Also getting quite popular in Scandinavia

Itsarattrap · 17/07/2020 23:09

Romy (though preferably Romily, which I know isn’t what you were asking 😬)

daisypond · 17/07/2020 23:06

I like both really but I’d go for Rosa. Rose is better, though. If you went for Rosemary you could have Romy or Rosa as a short form.

SidesteppinTheRona · 17/07/2020 22:47

Rosa.

Romy just makes me think “roomy”
