Glamorous names

Looking for more suggestions for names I can only describe as quite glamours, simply because of associations though: think Mae West, Vivien Leigh, Audrey Hepburn, Deanna Durbin, Greta Garbo... I just love love LOVE!

Can't find the one that my husband loves too though, so hoping you can help. We love something quite strong sounding, not too feminine sounding and smart.

Delilah

It’s totally the person. Cameron Diaz sounds glamorous but if it wasn’t for the actress it sounds just like a Latino male. Not good if you’re not pretty.

I love Greta

How about Margaret nn Maggie?
Makes me think of glamorous Margaret in The Crown

But Audrey from Coronation Street is glamorous Grin

Sophia?

Alexia is a glamorous name I think and so is sienna or Saskia

I like your choices, OP. I love Marlene Dietrich, and gave my DD the middle name Marlena. Greta is on the list for next baby, as is Ingrid. I love the name Ginger, although I’m not brave enough to use it.

Rita Hayworth
Elizabeth Taylor
Grace Kelly
Catherine Deneuve

I think my problem with the names you list is that they were used for their associated glamour for a generation of babies who are alive and not conspicuously glamorous — so Audrey Hepburn becomes Audrey from Coronation Street, Greta Garbo becomes Auntie Greta (I have one — she’s almost eighty and has cardigan sleeves lumpy with used tissues), etc etc.

Theda?

I think they're glamorous because of who they're associated with. Deanna Durbin on a regular person? Not so glam.
