Primrose or Penelope?

We just can’t decide between these names! Our surname begins with P and we’d love for her name to be alliterative! I think my personal preference is Primrose which surprises me as it’s so girly!

Primrose shortenings- Prim, Rose, Posy

Penelope shortenings- Penny, Nel

Definitely not primrose due to the negative word prim. Nel/Penelope is lovely.

I choose Primrose

mummy2myJJ · 12/07/2020 15:34

I know lots of little Penelope’s so for me its lovely, but overused where I live.
I really like Primrose, yet to meet one!

Whatsyourflava · 12/07/2020 13:51

Penelope by a long way
Great name

DramaAlpaca · 12/07/2020 13:45

Penelope by a long way, it's so lovely.

I'm sorry, but Primrose is horrible. Shortened to Prim? Really?

FizzyGreenWater · 12/07/2020 13:43

Primrose should work but it really really doesn't - it sounds weird, uptight, and yes Prim! Would you really want your DD to be called Prim?!

If you want something a bit more out there than Penelope, Primrose isn't it.

LemonLapin · 12/07/2020 13:40

Penelope is lovely. Primrose is awful.

cantsaynotocake · 12/07/2020 13:35

I personally really don't like primrose but love Penelope x

Aria20 · 12/07/2020 13:31

Primrose is too prim! Penny is nicer or Polly!

I prefer Primrose.

MikeUniformMike · 12/07/2020 13:26

Primrose is a bit prim and I don't love Penelope, but it is the better of the two.

How about Polly unless your surname is Parrott?

BiscuitLover3679 · 12/07/2020 13:25

Primrose

Aber9 · 12/07/2020 13:23

Penelope, I just live that name.

Unless your surname is Pitstop.
