Just that really. My husband and I think it's super adorable but also works for a girl in her teens and as an adult.
I think it's a classic name but am worried others will say it's dated? Any (not too critical) opinions would be great Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I love it! I know 3 Laurens. One is 31, one 28 (my daughter) and one is 16. I know 30+ Laura's personally, and know of many more if you add friends and colleagues children. Not that it should matter. Go with what you love, you'll be saying that name for the rest of your life!

DoTheNextRightThing · 09/07/2020 16:06

I prefer Lauren to Laura - but that's maybe because I know a Laura and she’s a nightmare 😂

FizzyGreenWater · 09/07/2020 16:05

Eeek no. Dated and boring. And just not classic. It's there with Jade and Kelly for me, sorry.

SionnachRua · 09/07/2020 16:01

We have a couple of Laurens in my school. It's ok. I wouldn't use it myself but a perfectly nice name and suits all ages.

I agree with the pp saying Lauren and Laura are very different. Lauren seems much classier and more elegant to me.

Pinkypink · 09/07/2020 15:56

I like it. But being super high-brow I do associate it with towie these days..

rooarsome · 09/07/2020 13:49

Very 90s. When I was growing up I had 3 Lauren's in my class alone

Strugglingtodomybest · 09/07/2020 13:38

It's a nice name.

MadisonAvenue · 09/07/2020 13:35

I wouldn’t say it’s a classic. On our small close of eleven houses there are four Laurens, with ages ranging from 8 to 23, and we know another three who are family friends.

IAmLaurenHello · 09/07/2020 13:34

Name changed just to make this comment.

That's my name! I love it, but my god was it popular in the 90s. I was never the only Lauren anywhere - and even now I'm not the only one at my work. But from what I've seen it's much less popular these days. Obviously I'm bias but I say go for it!

AhBallix · 09/07/2020 13:27

I love it. And I don't know any - am in NI though!

mrs87 · 09/07/2020 13:24

Much nicer than Laura!

mrs87 · 09/07/2020 13:24

Popular in my generation (I'm in my 30s and went to school with a few) but don't know any little Laurens and think it'd be a really lovely, different choice now. She won't be one of many but it's a recognisable, pretty name not something obscure!

YummyVeggie · 09/07/2020 12:03

I know at least 20 from when I was at school but only know one Laura from university

Roselilly36 · 09/07/2020 12:01

Lovely name

CloudPop · 09/07/2020 11:58

Lovely name.

IsMiseMorag · 09/07/2020 11:43

I prefer Laura - my first thought with Lauren is Catherine Tate's arsey schoolgirl. It feels quite 90s, but I guess that won't be much of a problem for a baby growing up in the 2020s.

NamiSwan · 09/07/2020 11:42

I like it. I really like the nickname "Ren" and considered Lauren for this reason before settling on another name for my DD3. So it's a thumbs up from me 👍🏻

pilates · 09/07/2020 11:40

I think it’s ok but I wouldn’t call it a classic.

DoTheMaccaroni · 09/07/2020 11:39

I was born in 1990’s so I grew up with loads of Lauren’s. I don’t really like it but it’s fine I suppose.

Bollss · 09/07/2020 11:32

@FuckKnowsMate

I’m a Lauren and if I had a quid for every time someone mistakenly called me Laura I’d be very rich. I’ve no idea why people can’t seem to call me by my name but it’s annoying to say the least! I do like my name though!
Me too. It drives me mad. I've also been called Laurence a few times via email!
MilaRos · 09/07/2020 11:31

I've known a few Lauren's, I think it's a bit dated now. Wouldn't say classic! Although I did know a Laurel, I thought that was more unusual

CorianderLord · 09/07/2020 11:27

I know a lot of Lauren's from my childhood (1995-2005).

It's a bit chavvy for me but honestly I think that's association with Lauren's I know rather than the name itself

sageandroses · 09/07/2020 11:24

I know millions my age, but underused now - although I think it sounds dated. I much prefer Laura, it's a lot more classic than Lauren.

2155User · 09/07/2020 11:22

Lovely name! *

2155User · 09/07/2020 11:22

Lovely bane? Definitely not over used
