Jemima

Sorry for lots of posts. This will be my last one until baby is born, I promise.

This morning I heard the name Jemima. Something about it just struck a cord with me and melted my heart a little. I immediately thought it would sound lovely on a little girl.

It seems to fit quite nicely with sibling names Noah, Jacob and Jemima.

So just throwing it out there to see what your thoughts are on the name? Do you think it is a usable name? And does it go nicely with sibling names?

Thank you.

Love it, but spelt Jemimah

Flappingflamingo · 04/07/2020 18:00

Oh and I forgot to say it sounds perfect with your sons names

yellowsunset · 04/07/2020 17:58

Something you'd name a farm animal, like a chicken?

MollyAtTheFolly · 04/07/2020 17:58

I've taught two Jemimas and neither of them had puddleduck issues.

It goes really well with your boys' names.

ColdGreenTeaMug · 04/07/2020 17:56

I love Jemima. I don';t think of puddleduck. I think of a lovely little girl in my DCs class. She is a delight.

TheVanguardSix · 04/07/2020 17:42

One of my favourite names. And it works perfectly with your sons' names.

perfumeistooexpensive · 04/07/2020 17:36

My DD hasn't forgiven me for not calling her Jemima. It's a family name and my GG was known as Mima. I really regret not choosing it. It's a perfect name.

Etinox · 04/07/2020 17:17

Lovely name. Mimi sounds nicer than Mima to me, you could also use also Jemmy, Jenny.

Jellybean100 · 04/07/2020 17:16

Gorgeous name!

Pleasance · 04/07/2020 17:15

Love it too, but my other favourite at the minute is Isadora (Dora)

GreenPlum · 04/07/2020 17:12

It's just the cutest and sounds perfect with your boys' names. You've GOT to do it!

Flappingflamingo · 04/07/2020 17:10

Other than isabella it's my favourite from all the other names you've posted but I'm quite biased, I have an Isabel and Jemima is one letter different to my name 😍

Peachbubble · 04/07/2020 16:38

One of my favourite names.

ForeverBubblegum · 04/07/2020 15:00

It is a lovely name, but I can't hear it without adding 'puddle duck's in my head. Sorry

CeibaTree · 04/07/2020 14:49

Lovely name! I think Isobel with an O looks better with Jemima :)

apricotdreams · 04/07/2020 14:45

Lovely name. Perfect fit with your sons names

VintageGirl89 · 04/07/2020 14:43

@Whatsyourflava Thank you ❤ Something about Jemima clicked the minute I heard it.
Just had a thought..... I could name her Jemima Isabel.

Yes, they’re all biblical names so they work well together.

Whatsyourflava · 04/07/2020 14:33

Really love all your names @VintageGirl89 !! We have similar taste. Go for Jemima though it's lovely and seems like you've fallen in love with it

monkeyonthetable · 04/07/2020 14:31

Love it. Gorgeous name.

VintageGirl89 · 04/07/2020 14:31

@Whatsyourflava Thank you!
I've dropped Chloe, Cora and Sofia from the shortlist. Its now between Jemima and Isabella.
I know Isabella is popular but I really love Isabel/Bella/Ella and Isabella contains all the options.
However, I absolutely adore Jemima and can't get it out my mind. X

@toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 that's likely just chance because the official statistics show that the numbers using the name have been declining year on year since 2015 and it is about to leave the top 300 names now! It's a great name and I can't believe how underused it is !

Whatsyourflava · 04/07/2020 12:13

Adore it. One of my favourite names

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 04/07/2020 11:46

Oh yes, and her grandparents do call her 'puddleduck'
Sometimes too! But we don't mind.

redwoodmazza · 04/07/2020 11:45

Love it - and love them together!
