Down to two...

My baby boy will be here in a couple of weeks and picking a name has been a thousand times more difficult than we anticipated Shock

We are now down to two names, but like them both equally so would love to hear what others think.

Owen - Nice and neutral, good for a baby and good for a man in my opinion.

Wyatt - You'd think American but it's actually old english and I love the meaning.

Both names go well with surname, which do you prefer?

I like both.

I've known a few Owen's in my time, and they've always been lovely boys/men.

Wyatt is certainly unique... but perhaps a bit Americanised?

Owen by a mile for me.

Wyatt, as well as sounding western also is a surname not a first name to my ears.

Owen is lovely. Very solid but gentle. Wyatt feels faintly ridiculous by comparison.

Owen .. Wyatt I thought was a is a hotel chain but it's Hyatt. I just don't like surnames as names.

I have a young son with an less used name and I live his name, but I do regret it in some ways, as he never gets invited to parties ( I think parents are unsure what their children are saying when they say his name.) people misspell it all the time, even the teachers.

I like wyatt but it is very american sounding. I've never met a British person with the name wyatt. Wyatt is an English surname not a first name. Owen is lovely.

Another vote for Owen here. Wason our list for a while too but we were put off by the lack of nick names. Don’t ask me why this is important to us!

I prefer Owen which is currently ranked at 118 in England and Wales so it's not that popular.

Wyatt makes me think of Wat Tyler and the Peasants' Revolt.

I don't love either but much prefer Owen. I also thought of Wyatt from Charmed. I know it's a first name but it sounds like a surname to me.

Have you been watching lots of 90s tv in lockdown because Owen made me think of the baby from Party Of Five.

Owen. I love this name.

Wyatt, whilst ok, sounds like “why it?” To me. Tho would fit in well with all the Cooper/Carter/Parker surnames as first names at the moment.
