I think they're all good solid names. You want something that us going to sound respectable if they choose to have a professional career in the future. I personally love George, Henry, Olivia and Evelyn. I recommend trying them out in your most hated accent/imagine them being called on a school register. We're from Northern Ireland and a lot of names can sound horrible in our accent so it ruled out a lot for us.

janetmendoza · 30/06/2020 02:07

Jacob or Penelope

Allmyeye · 30/06/2020 01:43

Amelie. Can’t agree it’s too popular. I’ve never had one although I’ve been teaching donkeys years. Mind you who knows what next year might bring. Sorry but I don’t like any of the boys names. Too common except for Ralph, Elias and Ezra and I really don’t like them.

VetOnCall · 30/06/2020 01:21

Boy:
Jacob - like it but it's likely to be shortened and Jake Clarke sounds a bit clunky

Lucas - like
Henry - like
George - like
Elias - no
Ralph - god no! Ralph will forever be the godawful nickname for the boy's penis in Forever by Judy Blume Grin
Ezra - don't love it but it seems to be quite trendy

Girl:
Lois - no, doesn't work with your surname
Penelope (penny) - not keen on Penny, not as nice as some of your other options
Rosie - ok
Olivia - ok but very overused
Amelie - bit meh, reminds me of the annoying movie character
Elena - love this
Evelyn - would call her Eve, think it's a gorgeous name
Erin - love this

Tavannach · 30/06/2020 00:52

Jacob and Erin are my favourites, with Lois and Ezra in second place.

Viviennemary · 30/06/2020 00:50

Boys Jacob George Ralph

Girls they are all ok but not overkeen on any Rosie is the best

ShyTown · 30/06/2020 00:49

Love all your boys names except Elias. George I wouldn’t use because of the TV architect. My favourite is Henry.

Girls names are lovely too but I don’t think Lois goes with your surname because of the superman connection. Elena would be my pick from your list.

AlrightBabby · 30/06/2020 00:48

Isn't George Clark that bloke who does house programs?

Wheresthebiffer2 · 30/06/2020 00:48

Very nice selection of names.

POP7777777 · 30/06/2020 00:45

They ALL go really well. My favourites are Ralph and Penny.

newreality1 · 30/06/2020 00:43

Henry and Lois/Penny/Erin all go really well with your surname.

Woulditbeworth · 30/06/2020 00:30

There is a famous George Clarke - although obviously not that famous as no one else has mentioned it.

Other than that, I really like your shortlist. Ezra and Penny are lovely.

Crabbo · 30/06/2020 00:24

Jacob - might get shortened to Jake. Not keen
Lucas - nice
Henry - boring
George - really boring
Elias - ok
Ralph - wiggum
Ezra - nice but quite popular

Lois - ok
Penelope (penny) - thunderbirds
Rosie - not keen
Olivia - not keen
Amelie - pretty but popular
Elena - nice
Evelyn - not keen
Erin - lovely

Enough4me · 30/06/2020 00:23

Jacob or Erin

Definitely not Ralph

Namechange8471 · 30/06/2020 00:13

Jacob and Rosie 👍

willowtree81 · 29/06/2020 23:57

Really nice names. I like Jacob, Elias and Rosie best.

littlealexhorne · 29/06/2020 23:25

I love Ezra, or out of your girls list I'd choose Olivia, which I actually still like despite it being so popular.

RainbowMum11 · 29/06/2020 23:23

Lois Clarke sounds like a Superman mash up (Lois Lane and Clarke Kent!)

snowone · 29/06/2020 23:14

I love Elias for a boy, my husband hated it though. For girls I love Elena and Erin but I would spell it Eryn. In fact DD1 was very nearly Eryn but we changed our mind at the last minute Smile

Painsnail · 29/06/2020 23:05

Lois Clarke has a very superman vibe...

Ulrikaka · 29/06/2020 23:04

Jacob Clarke will end up sounding a bit like Jakelarke, same with Luclarke. George is the architect off the tv (not a cultural reference your dc will care remotely about, but just springs to mind). Elias makes me think of Alias, Ezra quite common round here. Ralph is a penis name.
Love Henry!

Lois, Penelope (was on my list but would have had nn Polly), Rosie - love.
Olivia, Amelie, Erin - every class I taught was full of them in the mid-late 00s.
Elena - prefer Eleanor.

Evelyn. Frumpy and noone knows how to pronounce it.

Spam88 · 29/06/2020 22:58

Lois Clarke is a bit superman...

Of your boys names I like George best, followed by Henry. I think most of the others just sound a bit weak, and Ezra I'm just not a fan of.

I like all your girls names, but Penny Clarke sounds like it could be a job title 🤔 I particularly like Rosie.

sadpapercourtesan · 29/06/2020 22:47

Jacob - too common, boring
Lucas - meh, no character
Henry - LOVE it
George - love it, would shorten to Georgie
Elias - wishy-washy
Ralph - bleeeeeee
Ezra - like it

Lois - nope, Family Guy
Penelope (penny) - not for me but its OK
Rosie - like it, but would use as a shortening for Rosemary or Rosalie
Olivia - OK, bit middle-class and over-used
Amelie - meh, too common now
Elena - prefer Eleanor
Evelyn - harsh-sounding and too fashionable
Erin - OK, nothing special

RoseMartha · 29/06/2020 22:43

Of your boy names I prefer Jacob or Henry Clark.

Of your girls, Rosie or Penelope or Erin Clark.
