Down to our final two boy names. Which would you choose and why?

Guy or Drew?

TIA x

Thank you all, we're unsure what to do now and may keep thinking of different names we like and consider using the others as middle names until we know for sure which we prefer x

Drew

Poppydaisys · 01/07/2020 08:14

I like both Guy and Drew. Both are strong and memorable names nowadays.

Edward is so dull from overuse. I know so many Edwards/Eds that I need to know their surname to identify.

octoberfarm · 01/07/2020 03:55

Drew, but simply because I knew a particularly twattish Guy Grin Both are nice but I think Drew has the definite edge!

lavenderlove · 30/06/2020 23:48

Edward by a mile for me. I don't think it's a trending name? Ted/Teddy is but I think most people either use Ted as the full name or use Theodore.
Drew would be next for me but I would use Andrew

FizzyGreenWater · 30/06/2020 23:28

Hmm not mad keen on Edward really, reminds me of the prince. Guy is just too oddbod although it’s actually nice. I don’t know why it’s such a weird name but it is! I think I would actual go for Drew. But NOT as a nn for Andrew or you’ll end up with an Andy.

wishing3 · 30/06/2020 23:22

Guy

ILikeyourHairyHands · 30/06/2020 23:20

Guy by a mile! I know two very nice Guys!

BlueJeanBabeh · 30/06/2020 23:12

Eeee thanks "guys", see what I did there?! 😂 we will keep thinking

Neither but Guy Grin

RuddyP · 30/06/2020 22:15

Sorry hadn't read the whole thread. Edward Guy is fine. I wouldn't use Guy as a first name. Every single American using guy to mean "hey you generic person". It's just not a nice thing to do to a child.

RuddyP · 30/06/2020 22:13

If I had to choose then Drew but only if it's short for Andrew. Drew Edward is just awkward. Andrew Edward is better although it reminds me of the Queen's last two sons.

BlueJeanBabeh · 30/06/2020 21:48

Thanks for the help all much appreciated x

Drew.. actually can see it for a baby and a man too.. great name...

Guy? Meh..

Flappingflamingo · 30/06/2020 20:11

I have an uncle Andrew who is known to a few people as drew, so feels more like a nickname to me, I'm not sure about guy, but would probably say I just about prefer it. However, I don't think Edward sounds right after either of them as a middle name. I LOVE the name Edward though so would 100% use it as a first name

BuffaloCauliflower · 30/06/2020 20:01

Really like Guy

BlueJeanBabeh · 30/06/2020 19:58

@mylittleavalon I love you for that! So sad we had to get rid, Mr wasn't on board. Thinks he sounds too much like superman with our surname.. 😂

OP posts:
whattodo2019 · 30/06/2020 19:42

Drew.

mylittleavalon · 30/06/2020 19:35

I think Drew just nudges ahead for me. But like both (not as much as Clark though!! Wink )

MrsBudd · 30/06/2020 19:04

Definitely Guy.

Ughmaybenot · 30/06/2020 19:00

Guy, by an absolute mile. It’s a very solid sort of name to me.

BlueJeanBabeh · 30/06/2020 18:59

@LaughingDonkey thank you, love the knight vibe! You're right... I don't know how to feel anymore! I'm in an emotional name choice rollercoaster!

Also, this is just boys names! We're just the same with our girls options 😂😂

LaughingDonkey · 30/06/2020 18:52

Edward Guy [insert surname(s)] sounds nice. Imagine initials.

Still imo Edward is very ''knightly'' and ''kingly'' Smile and you can always call him by middle name.

In the end of the day it is up to both of you and how you feel about the name...

Potter4321 · 30/06/2020 18:50

Drew

BlueJeanBabeh · 30/06/2020 18:48

Hmm do you think Edward Drew or Edward Guy sound nice. Something to consider, I do really live Edward. The popularity just puts us off, we wanted to stay away from any trend names and it's still popular at the moment but more of a classic than a trend...
