What is your opinion of the boys name: Heath?

Just looking for thoughts really.

We like strong, slightly uncommon boys names but nothing too crazy/out there. Just wondered how it would be perceived on a LO.

Any similar names, or middle name suggestions appreciated!

Too closely linked to a prime ministe. Also, it sounds like Keith.

Zhampagne · 30/06/2020 09:21

I quite like it, but I have relatives who would pronounce it ‘heaf’, which I don’t like quite so much.

0DimSumMum0 · 30/06/2020 01:51

I love it!! Go for it

jaffacakeany1 · 30/06/2020 01:49

I've known a "Heath" for over 30 years and he's lovely, so yes!

Userzzz · 30/06/2020 01:44

Like it a lot!

Finfintytint · 30/06/2020 01:20

No. It refers to an area of uncultivated land. A bit thick with gorse and I wouldn’t want a child to be associated with something a bit thick.

Pieceofpurplesky · 30/06/2020 01:11

It's a great name.

HPLikecraft · 30/06/2020 00:34

I like it. No ones been called Keith for decades, so I doubt there’d be any confusion there. In any case, Keith starts with a ‘k’ sound 🤷🏻‍♀️

Orphlids · 29/06/2020 23:07

It’s the sort of name I’d try to dislike, because it sounds a bit trendy and maybe celebrity-influenced, but actually I really love it. It’s full of character. A lovely simple sound, but weighty. I’d be excited to meet a Heath. I’d imagine a man named Heath would be kind, calm and rather gorgeous.

Lovely

TFSRM · 29/06/2020 18:34

Nellydean21 · 29/06/2020 18:17

Lovely, solid strong name.

Tigger001 · 29/06/2020 18:15

Love it , I actually love heathcliff, but would choose Heath as its great name.

sibbys · 29/06/2020 17:58

What a great and solid name!

SumAndSubstance · 29/06/2020 16:27

Er, they rhyme?
It makes me picture a surfer dude. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing!

Lavenderbluesy · 29/06/2020 16:11

How does Heath sound like Keith Grin? Do you not pronounce the first letter?

FizzyGreenWater · 29/06/2020 15:23

Yes, like a lot.

Edenember · 29/06/2020 14:49

@CathyWuthering lovely. Comfy to wear but not dull.

DanniArthur · 29/06/2020 14:06

I'm another person who thinks "Heath Ledger" and then "Heathcliff" from wuthering heights. I do like it as a name though, it's unique without being silly and I generally like nature names.

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 29/06/2020 14:04

My first thought is 'Heath Ledger was hot in his heyday, my second thought is that it's a naff name. Sorry.

emmathedilemma · 29/06/2020 13:56

ooh no, very American and i think you'd spend a lot of time saying "no, not Keith...."

PersonaNonGarter · 29/06/2020 13:46

It’s great.

Rafflesway · 29/06/2020 13:45

👍👍👍!

Beamur · 29/06/2020 13:42
