Variations of Freya?

This is a long shot but does anyone have any suggestions of slight variations of the name Freya? We love the name but want something slightly more unusual to go with our sons name which is more unusual. Any alternative endings or extensions perhaps?

Ouch.

Ophelia with Freya as a nickname

That makes no sense at all. You might as well say 'Charlotte with Freya as a nickname'. If OP wants to call her daughter Freya, she should just call her Freya.

I know an Aurelia known as Reya

Ours is standard spelling (and she pre-dates the surge - adult now) but no one can spell it. At school they seemed to think it was a cross between Onya, Freda and Sonja, so we’ve had weird pronunciation and multiple spellings. If it helps, the Anya in the same school was subject to the same type of pronunciation and spelling issues Grin

Elouera · 28/06/2020 22:39

Freyja is the only other way I've seen it spelt and apparently more traditional that Freya. I'd think it would just get mis-spelt more often than Freya though IMO!

Zhampagne · 28/06/2020 22:35

Freia (depending on how you feel about Wagner)

Onestepup · 28/06/2020 22:30

Orfeya (one of the female versions of Orpheus)

villamariavintrapp · 28/06/2020 22:28

MissMoodyMoo · 28/06/2020 22:22

Or Fiadh which is Gaelic

MissMoodyMoo · 28/06/2020 22:22

What about Fia?

borntobequiet · 28/06/2020 22:19

I always thought Freya was just a variation of Freda. But I might be wrong.
