Samuel or Thomas?

Hello. Me and DH are really torn between these two names for upcoming DS, we like them both equally. I (personally) maybe like Samuel more as I really like his Biblical story, he is a very wise leader which makes me picture a Samuel in real life as somewhat of an inspirational figure. However, we would still like some insight from people here. Which name do you prefer? Thanks Smile

Honestly, you can't go wrong. Both lovely names. Agree that considering both, along with the likelihood for nicknames, with your surname could help.

Both great. I'd pick Thomas.

Choose whichever sounds best with your surname, and bear in mind that he will probably be Tom surname or Sam Surname.

Both very good classic names. I like them equally. Whichever one you go for you won't regret it.

In that case Samuel, I prefer full name Samuel to Thomas

(Although strangely love Tom more than Sam)

Thomas! I have a Thomas and he goes by Thomas or Tom and he'll always correct someone who calls him Tommy because he hates it 😂

@MrsGilly1 already was thinking of using George for the middle name - but Samuel Thomas could work too.

@ThroughThickAndThin01 I would get people to use the full names, until he is old enough to choose whether he wants to be Sam/Samuel/Tom/Thomas.

Love them both (am biased!) But Samuel just squeaks the win for me, especially given his story. I like particularly that in the Bible there stories of him both as a child and as an adult.

Definitely Samuel. Not a fan of Thomas, Tom, Tommy etc. Reminds me of Thomas the tank engine.
