Our baby girl is due in a few weeks and we can't decide on a name. Would really appreciate opinions on the only two we like so far:

Arla
Kaia

DH and I like unique, uncommon names. Any other suggestions welcome.

I prefer Darla.

Thanks @daisypond and @InvisibleToEveryone I will run all of these by DH and see where we end up!

I do too @LotusClover and DH is set on it but really glad to have some other options in case we decide we can't live with the association! Thanks for your list, I like quite a few of these.

@GooodGolly We've got the same problem - quite a few I like but DH turns them all down. It's a wonder we managed to name our son at all!

GooodGolly · 28/06/2020 13:24

@RufusandCasserole Ayla was our name for a girl. But we had 2 boys!! I'm done having babies. We like unique but not too unusual. I also liked Rayne but my DH vetoed that straight away!

RufusandCasserole · 28/06/2020 13:15

Thanks @Thistlegirl4

@GooodGolly Ayla was top of our list first time around (we had a boy), now there are a couple in our group of friends

@Whatsyourflava Willa is definitely on the list. Not so keen on Nina or Greta

Thistlegirl4 · 28/06/2020 13:09

I like Kaia the best out of the two.

Thanks @MaverickDanger I like a few of these, particularly Mila and Willa. Nola could grow on me too.

@ArchbishopOfBanterbury haha, thanks for the honest opinion - this is why I love mumsnet! I like Alana out of those but DH isn't keen Sad

OP posts:
ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 28/06/2020 11:12

I really like Kaia! Arla less so, how about Alana? Amaya? Orla?

Arla is too associated with the dairy / butter brand for me and I can't help but sound a little piratey when I say it, sorry!

RufusandCasserole · 28/06/2020 11:06

@SauvignonBlanketyBlank

Aria? Orla?
Thank you - I love Aria but feel it's become really popular in the last few years. Not as keen on Orla.
