Sibling name for Saffron

Hi all! Currently expecting DD2 and struggling to agree on a name. DD1 is called Saffron which we love because it's fairly unusual (but not completely unheard of) and has several nickname options. We've got a few maybes for DD2 but haven't found anything yet which feels quite right... Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks 😊

Saffron & Farrah X

Some absolutely gorgeous suggestion, thanks everyone. Some have already been "taken" by friends'/family members' children annoyingly but out of the others I quite like:

Jasmine
Jemima
Poppy (is this too popular though?)
Clementine
Cordelia
Beatrice (or maybe Beatrix)
Marnie
Ruby
Leonie
Willow
Juniper
Belinda
Lydia

So...lots of options but no closer to making a decision!! Will see what DH thinks.

Thanks again ☺️

I also do not primarily think of Saffron as a colour, you're welcome to borrow my name, Rosemary

Saffron and Skylar.

Tatum1234 · 28/06/2020 23:13

Saffron was on our list. Our other choices were Juno, Mila and Clementine

Walden.

Tillygetsit · 28/06/2020 23:06

My first thought was Jasmine. Both are yellow.

PinPon · 28/06/2020 21:34

Also thought of Clementine (also works in similar way to Poppy / Saffron).

PinPon · 28/06/2020 21:33

Poppy - would work as a colour, or as a flavour (poppyseed) and sounds lovely with Saffron.

The first name that came into my head was Jemima

I agree with pps, Saffron makes me think of spices not the colour so Amber or Ruby would be fine.

For some reason Laurel popped into my head with Saffron. A soft natural name to my ears.

Or
Cordelia (heart) nn Cordie
Adelaide (nobel/kind) nn Addie
Phoebe (shining one/radiant) nn Fee

A bit different but suit in different ways.

I think of Saffron as being a herb/spice not a colour.

@abigailwendover for some reason I’m drawn to J names; Jasmine, Jessamine, Jocelyn, Jessa, Johanna, Jannah. Also Fern(e), Poppy, Pippa, Orla, Orpah, Tess(a). I feel like another name with two consonants together would sit nicely alongside.

Crockodoodle · 28/06/2020 09:11

Rosemary Rosemarie, Rosie is such a cute nn.

Some lovely suggestions - thanks everyone - will discuss with DH ☺️

I wondered whether it would sound too matchy to go for another colour name, like Amber or Ruby - although I do like both of them.

@OneRingToRuleThemAll hello to another Saffron mum! Willow goes really nicely.
