Help! Baby arriving Tuesday and we have no name 😬

My choice is
Stanley

My partner wants
Seth

We can’t agree 😢

I’m thinking
Stanley Atticus
Stanley Gabriel
Stanley Seth
He’s thinking
Seth And won’t bloody budge!
Is 2 names beginning with S an issue.? One being the middle name so wouldn’t be used much at all. Or do I agree to call the baby Seth (which I don’t not like, I just love Stanley) and use Stanley as a middle name that I can then use if I want to.
I hate the thought of baby arriving and then not been given a name but we haven’t been able to agree for over 4 months so I can’t see it happening by Tuesday!

We have gone through thousands of other names but partner is Insistent it’s Seth (or he’d like to use his name but our other son has that as a middle name so I’m not keen)

Help

I love Seth .. I can picture a baby Seth, teen Seth and an adult Seth but the same with Stanley seems difficult

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 26/06/2020 07:57

Seth is sooooo much nicer, but I agree with PP - you need a different name if you can't agree between those two!

PMTRex · 26/06/2020 07:55

You have to find a name you both like so not Stanley or Seth!

Flowerpowersy · 26/06/2020 07:52

Personally I much prefer Stanley and don't like Seth at all.

But I think you both need to find another name you both love.

rodentfeet · 26/06/2020 07:52

seth im not sure, it sounds like a name from emmerdale, like a farmer type name, stanley is quite nice..

Itsgottobethisone · 26/06/2020 07:51

He had originally agreed to Stanley Gabriel (Gabriel being his choice but I don’t not like it).
A few month’s ago he said he was ‘going off’ Stanley but every name Ive mentioned since is a no. 🙈
He only mentions Seth or his name when I bring up the need to choose a name.
It’s driving me mad but I guess so many babies aren’t named straight away. X

Neither of you can put your foot down and not budge on the name. You need to find one you both like.

Peach1204 · 26/06/2020 07:45

I'd say if neither of you like each other's favourites then pick another name. You both need to like the name. I think it is one of the hardest decisions to make! Xxx

Can you find a different S name? I’m sure you have tried!

Silas
Simeon
Solomon

I love the name Stanley. Not so keen on seth. Can you convince him? My DH refuses to discuss names until he sees the baby for the first time (I make a secret list in my head haha.)

EileenAlanna · 26/06/2020 07:39

Seth is lovely. Not at all keen on Stanley.

I'm with you, I prefer Stanley too. My advice would actually be to wait until the baby arrives! In my experience you tend to have a feeling about names when the baby is here! Or your husband may soften on his opinion after he's seen what you've just done! Both names are nice though!
