We really should name this child we created but we just can't seem to find the name that fits. Current favourites are:

Oscar
Dylan
Joseph

But can't commit. Any favourites or suggestions? We still look at new names most days.

At least the registry offices are closed anyway so no rush.

Of the three you've listed in the OP, I prefer Joseph by far. I'm not keen on Oscar and I dislike Dylan.

Prettybluepigeons · 26/06/2020 10:38

Oscar.

Actively dislike Joseph and Dylan. Dylan is a naughty boy name.

I like oscar and Dylan, not as keen on Joseph.
Just make a decision!!!
Honestly very quickly they will grow into their name and it will feel like the best most natural choice in the world. Look how it goes with surname, initials etc then make a choice and stop dithering!

bluebell34567 · 26/06/2020 09:29

shall we know what you chose? Smile

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/06/2020 09:15

Joseph is my favourite from your list.

How about Matthew, Marcus or Lucas.

Congratulations by the way.

Joseph. There are so many Dylans and Oscars. There's more to work with with Joseph too.

Onestepup · 26/06/2020 08:59

Dylan is massively popular where I live, I know 8 or 9 all of a similar age.
Joseph is ok, bit boring.
Oscar is nice.

Jarvis
Luke
Scott
Asa
Dashiel

Woodlandtree · 26/06/2020 08:40

I love all your names and also Jamie (James) and Ellis.

nubeejinnings · 26/06/2020 08:37

Dylan, most unusual. Can we have a photo? Just to see if he looks like a Dylan?

Bicnod · 26/06/2020 08:36

I'd go with Oscar - my eldest DS is Oscar and he's kind, creative, an avid reader, awesome artist, has a brilliant sense of humour and is extremely handsome (IMHO) in case that helps Grin

jellybe · 26/06/2020 08:32

From your list Joseph.

Alternatives:
Jacob
Dexter
Fredrik
Isaac

suchclearwater · 26/06/2020 08:27

Another one for Joseph!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 26/06/2020 08:24

What bugs me about the name Joseph is where we are there are a couple of pronunciations and I only like one.

  1. JO-seff (heavy on the Jo, which is short)
  2. Joe-siv (drawn out Joe, very definite v sound at the end).

I hate no.2

BeMorePacific · 26/06/2020 08:18

I live Joseph, mostly because I love Joe & Joey. Congratulations xxx

Hatscats · 26/06/2020 08:16

Joesph!

Nice nick names too

AvengingGerbil · 26/06/2020 07:24

If you don’t have strong feelings about particular names, you could just go traditional and name him after his grandfathers or (if you have them) godfathers.

5LeafPenguin · 26/06/2020 07:05

From your list I like Joseph best (also Joe/Joey).

If Joseph isn't quite right then Joel is also lovely.

When I read your list, Hayden came to mind as an alternate.

Congratulations on your little boy and hope you find a name you love soon.

SpillTheTeaa · 26/06/2020 06:46

I like Oscar.
I have a Milo never met another Milo.

Dougie was on the shortlist for DS.
