Baby no 3 is due August and we are struggling with boys names!! (Think we have decided on our girls names) We like short names and so far are thinking

Rory Alexander
Rudy Alexander

Our other two DS are

Seth William
Elias James

Just wondering what peeps thoughts are and if there are any other ideas

Many people struggle to pronounce their Rs and Rory could end up as Wowy...!

Edenember · 29/06/2020 14:47

@Rowley829 I have exactly the same thing, my 2 boys both have biblical names, I’m anything but religious but I just seem to be drawn to the sounds in Hebrew names for boys. If I had another boy I’d probably naturally go biblical again because that’s just the style I seem to like, but also while there’s no law saying you have to stick to a rigid theme I’d feel like something very different stylistically would just feel incongruous and I wouldn’t want anyone feeling like the odd one out. I love your boys names, strong and classic, comfy to wear but not dull.

Champy87 · 29/06/2020 14:16

Rudy Alexander was our choice of name had we had a boy. Still love it and think it goes well with your other DC.

user1493494961 · 26/06/2020 21:40

I would go biblical as well. Some great suggestions from other posters.

Cbeebiesrehab · 26/06/2020 17:39

I have a Jude and love Jesse...feel like they fit with your other boys names.

Sunnydayshereatlast · 26/06/2020 16:20

Jonah
Zachary

Rowley829 · 26/06/2020 16:16

Thanks everyone!

@Edenember yes DS names are both from Old Testament. This was a little accidental and we are not particularly religious!! We did think about keeping along the same ‘theme’ so I think I might look back over those names.

@Whatsyourflava always interesting to hear other people’s thoughts. Part of the problem of having a surprise 3rd baby is that some/most of the names we like are already used by relatives/friends Blush

Have we helped at all @Rowley829
I prefer Rudy - great name

emmathedilemma · 26/06/2020 14:55

I don't think Rory is at all posh!
I prefer Rory to Rudy.
Seth and Elias seem quite religious names to me but Rory doesn't, i'm not sure it fits with them.

BabyLlamaZen · 26/06/2020 13:30

Post was meant to say posh

BabyLlamaZen · 26/06/2020 13:30

Should've said posh, not post!

As in the name rory makes me think of posh, private school older man (I have known a few 🤣) doesn't mean I'm right! It's hard to shake off a name and association sometimes.

SallyWD · 26/06/2020 12:05

I love Rory! Not so keen on Rudy.

yourestandingonmyneck · 26/06/2020 12:05

Never mind. I've realised I think that was a typo for posh.

yourestandingonmyneck · 26/06/2020 11:57

Sorry for typos, phone was acting strange.

What does post mean? As in "to me it screams post"?

yourestandingonmyneck · 26/06/2020 11:55

B@what @BabyLlamaZen
Wat does "to me it screams post" mean?

passthemustard · 26/06/2020 11:29

Another vote for Rory here 😁

pilates · 26/06/2020 11:21

Love Rory

BabyLlamaZen · 26/06/2020 11:13

What girls names do you have, out of curiosity?

BabyLlamaZen · 26/06/2020 11:12

I love your names and I also love Rudy. I think it's similar.

Not a big fan of Rory. To me it screams post (but not in a good way!) and a bit entitled. The others are more interesting.

Cbeebiesrehab · 26/06/2020 10:59

Both go lovely with your boys names. I would probably go with Rudy out of those two as I think it’s a bit more unusual. Great taste OP.

AdaColeman · 26/06/2020 00:56

Rory is fab!
Not keen on Rudy.

Rafe, Roman, Robert?

helpasisout · 26/06/2020 00:09

love Rudy it was on our list too.

GracieLane · 25/06/2020 20:08

Reuben was my first thought. I do like both Rory & Rudy too though

Edenember · 25/06/2020 20:06

@Rowley829 I prefer Rory from the two options, however I’d be inclined to go biblical again like your other 2 boys names, which are lovely btw. Some suggestions -
Zachary, Caleb, Gabriel, Reuben, Eben, Abel, Joel, Jonas, Jonah, Silas, Jethro. I also think Jory, Jago (both Cornish) and Xander would sit Nicely alongside your other boys names.

Blursula · 25/06/2020 20:01

Love your names. Rudy gets my vote. Remy?
