What do you think of Fern? Which spelling would you use? Fearne, Ferne or Fern?

Other options for something short, I am open to. Others I like are Maude and Nell.

Fern is lovely. Unusual and memorable!

I don't like Tess, although possibly as a nickname for Tessa.

Thanks all. I like Gwen a lot but I know too many little ones now and unfortunately have associations.

Oh I really like Tess. I'll mention this to DP.

I have a thing for short girl names as you can tell. I just think they're so lovely.

Just Fern is lovely I don't think it needs anything extra. I know of little Nell's and love it.

It's a lovely name. Just "Fern" is nice---no unique spellings.

I think Fern is a really pretty name and I actually prefer this spelling too - pretty and elegant.
