Really love the name name Emmeline however surname if Green, and think there's too much eeee sound, would you go for Emmeline Green or
Emily Green

Amelie?
Could be shortened to Amy/Ami?

Imgladimnotyourchild · 29/06/2020 19:05

Emmie is better

Sittingontheveranda · 29/06/2020 19:03

Emily is far from a classic name. It is an old name. It is dreadfully dull and dreary.

captainraymondholt · 29/06/2020 12:43

Elodie sounds better with Green than Emily.
Emmeline can be pronounced Emme-LINE which sounds ok with Green but she will constantly be having to tell people...

IndiaMay · 29/06/2020 08:03

I dont like Emily either. Theres too many.

Romily (although getting popular), Clementine, Emilia, Mila, Miley, Millie, Emmie

mamablondie2 · 28/06/2020 20:21

Emily.

Timeless and not fussy or ‘trendy’.

Mollythepoodle · 27/06/2020 13:14

Adaline?

Prettylittlelady · 27/06/2020 12:25

I think Emmeline is really pretty but it will get misheard for Emily a lot of the time. Which although they sound so similar to my ears they are totally different names. You’re probably right about your surname....

JollyGiraffe12 · 26/06/2020 21:13

Emily Green sounds great - I would be happy to introduce myself with that name. Completely disagree that Emily is dull or dreary it’s a beautiful, classic name steeped in history

Bananasplitlady · 26/06/2020 00:12

I know of 6 Emmelines in one preschool. It's not
a pretty name IMO, I think it sounds like a cow or Guinea pig but I literally trip over them.
Additionally, every time I see one of them, I have the following theme tune: maybe she's born with it- maybe it's Emmeline...

helpasisout · 26/06/2020 00:05

I like Emily. Eliza and Edith/edie as other have suggested are lovely too

ritalia · 26/06/2020 00:03

Emmeline is close to Amelia and Ameline.
I might like Ameline or Emily.

Whatsyourflava · 25/06/2020 23:03

Or Eliza?

Whatsyourflava · 25/06/2020 23:02

How about Edith nn Edie

InvisibleToEveryone · 25/06/2020 23:01

Amaelia?

Romilly?

Sittingontheveranda · 25/06/2020 21:55

Emmeline. Emily is so utterly dull and dreary.

I have to agree with Emily being dreary, but Emmeline Green has to many ‘ee’ sounds in it. Emilia is lovely.

Thankyou for your replys so far, it is a shame Emmeline doesn't go well with my surname, I do like Amelia/Emilia also however both thoses names seem to be very popular where I live, along with Evie Isla, Isabella ect, surprising no Emily's considering it's high up in the charts. X

@Postcard2020 much prefer Emmeline but it doesn’t work with the surname. The popularity of Emily would put me off but if it doesn’t you then go for it, it sounds good with the surname. Emilia is another possibility.

Sittingontheveranda · 25/06/2020 03:14

Emmeline Green is a bit of a mouthful.
Emily sounds better.
Would Amelia or Millie work for you?

POP7777777 · 24/06/2020 23:33

Emmeline is a beautiful name, but sadly it doesn't go with Green. Emily Green sounds great though. 🙂

NotNowPlzz · 24/06/2020 23:22

Emily is vastly better and goes much better with your surname.

nervousnelly8 · 24/06/2020 18:56

Middle name Geller?

daisypond · 24/06/2020 18:54

The Emmelines I know are nearing 30. It seems a little dated in style now, that flouncy Victoriana. But I find Emily a bit dreary, I’m afraid. It goes better with your surname, though.

ILoveStickers · 24/06/2020 18:54

Emily for me.
