Tobias or Tristan?

Baby is over 2 weeks old and has no name still. We’re down to these two names (others considered were Rowan, Robin and Julian).

Surname is hyphenated, 4 syllables in total. No middle name decided as yet.

Thoughts?

I prefer Tobias to Tristan, but like Tobin even more, in case that works as an alternative option?

Tobias. Tobias is lovely and the 3 Tobys I know (2 of whom are officially Tobias) are fabulous boys, fun and sporty.
People keep commenting that Tristan is posh but the only ones I know are the exact opposite of that.

Trying hard to what?! I don't understand. To me Tristan is lovely normal name.

I'm not so keen on Tobias. Is it pronounced To bee as?

Robin from your original list is much nicer. But Tristan is better than Tobias. Toby is so wet.

It will 100% be Toby/Tobes or Triss as he grows up, so which of those do you prefer?

Your other three names were my top three, so I‘m going to say Francis or Christopher, numbers 4 and 5.
Tobias is OK, but Tristan has a lot of associations so make sure they suit you.

Tristan for me. Not a fan of names who's meanings refer to God personally so Tobias is out.

Tristan. The Tristan I knew was called Tris for short, not Stan.

Like both. Toby/Tobias - I know quite a few. Not uncommon at all ! Tristan - still has quite ‘posh’ vibe. Less so than used to be I think. Nice name.
