We still have three months to go before our baby boy is born. I was convinced it was a girl, so the boys list is starting from scratch and it's so hard!!!

DP and I have different tastes. I want Lysander, he wants something more common.

Please tell me what you think and make any suggestions!

Percy (I love, family name, but it's very marmite)
Freddie (short for something - not keen on Frederick but want a proper name for BC)
Sebastian (DP likes, I'm a bit meh and don't like Seb)
Caspar
Louis

Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Goyle · 21/06/2020 14:44

I don't like any of them Blush

roarfeckingroar · 21/06/2020 14:34

@MikeUniformMike erm yeah I pretended Lysander is because of the Greek general / Shakespeare but it's totally after Lysander Hawkley.

Rupert added to the list - thank you.

Lysander- really don't like that one sorry😬
Percy- sooo cute! I love it
Freddie- love but I feel like I know quite a lot of babies and young children who have been named Freddie recently
Sebastian- love this one, sounds super handsome
Casper- my favourite out of your list and one of my favourite names
Louis- it's okay, 50/50 don't love it but don't dislike it either!

Good luck picking a name x

MikeUniformMike · 21/06/2020 14:30

Lysander - too Jilly Cooper
Percy - Percy Pigs and Percy Sugden
Freddie - not keen on Fred
Sebastian - have you seen Little Britain? Don't like it.
Caspar - fine
Louis - fine

roarfeckingroar · 21/06/2020 14:26

I know quite a few adult Freddies, but then my friends are all a bit "posh" silly nicknames etc.

Thank you so far. See there is some love for Percy! I appreciate all the suggestions too, although none of them are ones I'm going to add to the list. It's so hard.

Quentin is a great name.

Twisique · 21/06/2020 12:11

Laurence Caspar

MissMarplesHandbag · 21/06/2020 11:35

Louis

Scottishflower · 21/06/2020 11:34

I think Percy is really cute. Go with what you love. X

doadeer · 21/06/2020 11:12

I only like Louis and Seb. Sorry hate the others

Pippilangstrumpfi · 21/06/2020 10:37

I only like Caspar as well as the suggestions of Quentin and Otis.

Weihnachtsstern · 21/06/2020 10:18

Caspar and Percy are great

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:29

Otto
Otis
Austin

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:28

Yes how about Wilfred? Barnaby? Tristan? Caleb? Nathaniel nn Nate? Christopher nn Kit?
Sidney nn Sid
Laurence nn Laurie
Curtis
Rudy/Rudi

A name like Peter night meet both your criteria @roarfeckingroar as it's really rare these days (Will be only one in class and school probably), but obviously a familiar name

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:21

I know a little chap called Percy- he's the coolest little guy and really suits his name

Whatsyourflava · 21/06/2020 09:21

Percy - LOVE - one of my favourite names
Freddie - LOVE
Sebastian - LOVE
Caspar - LOVE
Louis - LOVE

Grufallosfriends · 20/06/2020 22:10

The problem with Sebastian is that's it's quite long and the nicknames are ugly imo - Seb, Sebbie, Basty ?!

Louis is ok but often pronounced Lou-is.

user1493494961 · 20/06/2020 22:05

Percy is a penis. Really like Sebastian, Caspar and Louis are OK.

istheresomethingishouldknow · 20/06/2020 21:59

Sebastian is my favourite of the lot.

Freddie - cute for a boy, not convinced for a teen or grown up, would become 'Fred' I'd hope

Percy (Jackson) (Pig) - tricky, definitely marmite

Caspar (ghost)

Louis - quite common, a bit meh

BikeRunSki · 20/06/2020 21:52

I like them all, although Caspar least. Freddie could be Alfred or Wilfred.

DramaAlpaca · 20/06/2020 21:51

Louis is nice.

OhTheRoses · 20/06/2020 21:50

Caspar and Louis are middle names for my boys.

Arthur
Magnus
Gawain
Edward
William
Tristan
Conrad
Benedict
Tobin

We used Caspar for a Christmas baby - Melchior and Balthazar were the other wise men.

borntohula · 20/06/2020 21:49

Despite 'Louis' reminding me of someone I don't like, it's my favourite out of those and Freddie is a cute name.

cushioncovers · 20/06/2020 21:44

Not keen on any of them to be honest. Sorry
