Joseph Charles, Charles Joseph or Daniel Joseph?

Hello again - we have narrowed down our first/middle name choices for our final and last DS4. For people who don’t know - our other sons are Thomas William (Tom), Franklin George (Frank), and Samuel James (Sam). Which of the three names do people like best? Will shorten to Joe, Charlie and Dan. Thanks Smile

Daniel Joseph (or Joseph Daniel, if that's a choice). I love both Daniel and Joseph but afraid I'm not keen on Charles.

Congrats on DS number 4!

Joseph Daniel
Sorry, I know, there's always one. They're both gorgeous names and run together well I think.

I don’t like Sam and Dan, too rhyming.

So Joe or Charlie, either are lovely.

@947EliseChalotte thank you, I’m sure he will follow the lead of his brothers Grin

@mathanxiety thank you! It’s sometimes quite hard to be the only female in the house with a husband, and what will now be four sons though Grin

@947EliseChalotte agreed, it’s very regal. I find Charles to be a strong name, quite alpha male, but still with a pleasant gentleness to their character. I don’t know whether this opinion of the name is agreed with or not, but that’s my take on it

Joseph Charles

itsgettingweird · 19/06/2020 17:01

I was going to suggest Thomas Joseph until I read your OP.

My sons called that!

You have fab taste in names btw Grin

I love Charles (Charlie)

So I would go for Charles Joseph

But be aware he may get called CJ. Somehow at school my son has become TJ as he hates Tom or Tommy!

mathanxiety · 19/06/2020 16:53

Congratulations on four boys btw.

mathanxiety · 19/06/2020 16:52

Joseph Charles - Joseph is a great name and would fit really well with your other names either in long form or as Joe.

947EliseChalotte · 19/06/2020 16:44

Also like Joe for short. Xx All the best to you and with you lovely, wonderful son to be xx

947EliseChalotte · 19/06/2020 16:41

Joseph Charles .... Love the name Charles sounds regal -& class. I could imagine an accountants or other successful business with this name.

Alison051985 · 19/06/2020 16:38

@Quizeerascal both Thomas and Samuel had 2 other Toms and 1 other Sam in their year groups at school - and they never used the initials at the end of their name, they was all just “Tom” or “Sam” so I doubt this will happen.

@Quizeerascal love both Daniel and Joseph, and on the idea of Joseph Daniel - I think the other way round it flows nicely however Joseph Daniel is a bit of a mouthful (IMO).

Quizeerascal · 19/06/2020 16:33

@SageRosemary he wouldn't come Joe C surely if there were multiple Joes in a class, he'd become whatever is last initial is e.g. Joe Bloggs would become Joe B

Quizeerascal · 19/06/2020 16:31

I love Joseph, can I be radical/unhelpful and say Joseph Daniel if not Joseph Charles and goes best with your other names imo

userabcname · 19/06/2020 16:06

I like Charles best

littlealexhorne · 19/06/2020 15:58

Daniel Joseph

Smellbellina · 19/06/2020 15:54

I think Sam and Dan are too similar, I don’t like Charlie, love Joe

bossyboo · 19/06/2020 15:53

Umm, I like the name Joesph Charles but ...
...initials JC (Jesus Christ or Jaycee sounds girlie)
... if two boys named Joe in class does he become Joe C (Josie)

I like Daniel Joseph, and the initials DJ also make a cute pet name

Laughing that sleepismysuperpower! possibly didn't get much sleep last night.

Joe, Charlie and Dan are all great names.
