Need a first and middle name for final/last son

Hello, as subject says, we need some first/middle name ideas. He already has three brothers: Thomas William, Franklin George and Samuel James (these are known as Tom, Frank and Sam on a day to day basis). Was thinking of Joseph Oliver or Joseph Charles, but would like to hear some other suggestions. We typically prefer more traditional names. Thanks Smile

I'm 25w pregnant with my first baby and we're naming him Franklin, so I was very excited to see that you have a son with the same name! Other boys names we considered: Caspar, Arthur (probably using as our son's middle name), Asher, Hugo and Theodore.

I think Joseph is the best too.
It goes well with lots of middle names.

Joseph Charles B**
Joseph Edward B**
Joseph Robert B**
Joseph Henry B**

Fred and Frank is a bit much.

I like Daniel Edward Burton.

Theodore/Theo
Edward/Ted
Albert/Albie/Bertie
Ernest/Ernie
Alexander/Xander
Wilfred/Wilf
Lochlan/Lochlyn/Lochy/Locky

Sorry if I’ve duplicated any people have mentioned.

Joseph for me, I like Joseph Charles.

Back in the day I was struggling for a middle name for my third and last son. I was browsing in the local library and found a very old book of baby names. I always liked the name Joseph, but Joe not so much so it was always going to be a middle name. Then I looked up the meaning and it said Joseph means 'addition', which it defined as 'God had added another son'. That clinched it for me, the perfect name for a third (or fourth in OP's case) son Smile

Jesse, Matthew, James?

strandedatthedrivein · 18/06/2020 23:07

Another vote for Joesph, Joseph Edward perhaps?

Chicchicchicchiclana · 18/06/2020 23:06

I really like Joseph too. I think you've already made an excellent choice.

newmum332 · 18/06/2020 23:02

Out of suggestions I’m liking
Edward and Alfred.

You can definitely use Fred as nn for Alfred.

What about Arthur - Tom, Sam , Frank and Art sound lovely to me.

Tillygetsit · 18/06/2020 22:15

I have a Joseph so I'm biased! Joseph Daniel?

123Dancewithme · 18/06/2020 20:39

I like Joseph Charles. Joe Burton sounds good.

@Awwlookatmybabyspider great suggestions, thank you. I’m liking William Oliver and Daniel Charles particularly.

@xmummy2princesx I like all of those - timeless classics you can’t go wrong with. Same with @BlueChampagne but don’t like Robin or Alastair (I’m presuming that was what you meant)

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I’m liking:

Daniel (Joseph would be a good middle name for this IMO)
Henry John
Christopher (if shortened to Chris and not Kit)
Robert
Edward (shortened to Ted)
Maxwell
Alfred (if it’s possible to shorten to Fred not Alfie; too cutesy for my liking, and don’t particularly like Frederick for full)

Then the others, not really keen on at all
