I have an Anna. Sometimes called Ann. Never Annie.
It is the best name ever.

I’m an Anna and I like my name. My parents wanted a name that couldn’t really be shortened, so they’ve always said. Never really had a nickname at school or anything, but did get the odd ‘Anna Spanner’ etc.

Although now it looks odd having read it so many times on this thread...

I’m an owner of the single letter version Wink and agree it’s a PITA. When people ask my name for important purposes, I don’t even say it, I just go A-N-A as it’s easier than Ana-with-one-n - when it’s not important Starbucks they can spell it how they like, I don’t care anymore Grin.

(I’m not British and was given the standard spelling in my home country.)

And I agree that 'Ana' is over-complicating things. I get the impression that some posters thing it's refined to go for French/Spanish/Italian versions of names. It's a bit cringeworthy.

Anna is beautiful and classic. My favourite name ever actually.

Annie is pretty and very sweet. Possibly a bit nicknamey as a standalone name?

Anne is classic and elegant but somehow seems a bit neutral and plain at the moment. It'll probably be in fashion again in a few years.

I'm rather fond of Anne which could then become Annie. It seems rather overlooked these days. I do like Anna too, but I I'm tired of 'ie', 'y' and 'a'-ending names.

I hate my name which is one of those and only has one syllable Wink. Definitely chose a name with 2 syllables - it's easier for people to hear if you are shy (I speak from experience) and Anna or Annie are nicer.
