Summer baby named Winter?

So, just that really. I love the name Winter/Wynter (not sure which spelling) with Winnie being a NN. My baby girl is due mid August.

Are all children named April/Autumn/Summer/June born in these months or seasons? Am I setting myself up for "oh was she born in the winter"?

Am I going crazy trying to decide on a name? 😂

Winter is lovely.

Wynter is appalling.

I would definitely assume April, June, Holly, Winter and Summer were born in April, June, December, Winter and Summer but I would just think it was mildly surprising if they weren't, I wouldn't think it was silly.

OnABeachSomewhere · 13/06/2020 21:49

I think it's fine.

It’ll be mid-winter in the Southern Hemisphere. Just find some link to NZ or something!

I think if you're going to name your child after a season they do have to be born in that particular season. Oh and I'm answer to your question.
Yes I would think it was silly a child being born in October nam ed April.

Miriel · 13/06/2020 21:25

I don't think being born in summer is a problem but I'd definitely go with Winter over Wynter.

percheron67 · 13/06/2020 21:20

Why not split the difference and go for Autumn Equinox?

HelmutShmacker · 13/06/2020 20:42

I know someone called April, and someone called June. Neither of them were born in those months. I really don't think it matters :)

CherryCreme · 13/06/2020 20:39

Those who have said it's silly, would it be silly to you if a little girl called April is born in October? 🤔

Just curious, it's not the chosen name as of yet and have a very long list still. This is the only thing that makes it difficult for me to choose the name Winter!

I also think it is a silly name for a summer born child.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 13/06/2020 20:18

I would think it a bit silly name for a summer born child.

MintyMurray17 · 13/06/2020 19:58

I wouldn't assume that someone with the name Winter was necessarily born in winter, nor would I feel compelled to ask! I would simply marvel at how lovely their name is Smile go for it!

ILoveStickers · 13/06/2020 19:41

Not a problem. I might assume winter was a special time for you for another reason, iyswim. Though as it's Christmas, NYE etc, I suppose it's special to a lot of people.

Winter is cool. Not so sure about Winnie, but it could be cute.
