hey :)

after reading A LOT OF threads and the comments in my last thread
Finally I've found two of my favourite girl names Blush

VERITY or EMMELINE??

I love the meaning of Verity - truth
and this name looks relatively stronger than many girl names ((???? idk...

At the same time...
I love Emmeline Pankhurst! because of her contribution to feminism!
and the name sounds and looks elegant.
(by the way, which pronunciation do you prefer - Emm-uh-leen OR Emm-uh-line)

THX!!

They are both lovely names, I would go for Verity. If you choose Emmeline I think that the Emm-uh-leen pronounciation is much nicer and the one I naturally would say when I see the name. Good luck choosing!

I prefer Verity, it's lovely.

For Emmeline I like the Pankhurst connection but the name itself I find overly feminine.

jennymac31 · 12/06/2020 22:40

Emmeline but I'm biased as it's my mother's and daughter's name.

Elouera · 12/06/2020 22:37

Verity- although they both have 3 syllables, this just feels shorter and less of a mouthful. Also less likely to be mispronounced.

BirdsDoIt · 12/06/2020 22:37

Verity, definitely. I love it.
I think you might end up with Em or Emma as a shortening of Emmeline eventually?

Chocolateteabag · 12/06/2020 22:37

Emmeline - as I like Emme as a shortened version

thunderandsunshine01 · 12/06/2020 22:36

Emmeline with the leen pronunciation

Dozer · 12/06/2020 22:36

Would say emmeline, but for the pronunciation issue.

wishing3 · 12/06/2020 22:35

Both lovely, but Verity.

DramaAlpaca · 12/06/2020 22:35

Emmeline with the -leen pronunciation.
