I posted previously about some suggestions for DC4. We decided on a girls name but still undecided for a boys name. DH and I quite like the name Saul, we have 3DC already called Jude, Levi and Ezra and think it goes quite well. Wdyt?

I love Saul, and it goes so perfectly with your other kids' names. If I have one overriding association it's Saul from Homeland, but that's hardly a bad thing! Definitely use it.

Than you all for such positive comments!

@CayrolBaaaskin I’m not Jewish no, and I do like Samuel but don’t like Sam

It's a great name and goes well with the others Smile

123Dancewithme · 08/06/2020 00:45

It’s perfect with the brothers’ names.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 07/06/2020 23:32

Absolutely lovely name, I really like it and it does go beautifully with your other children's names.

NoLongerAnEasyTarget · 07/06/2020 23:26

Saul is my favourite boys name. Goes well with your other kids names and it's also the real name of Slash from Guns and Roses. Very cool.

PolloDePrimavera · 07/06/2020 23:11

I love a biblical name, thumbs up.

SingingSands · 07/06/2020 23:09

Great name and it goes fantastically well with the names of your other children Smile

IKEA888 · 07/06/2020 23:04

yes lovely
know a Sol as well as a Saul.

DramaAlpaca · 07/06/2020 23:01

It's not my sort of name, but it goes perfectly with your other three boys' names. Four boys, all with names with four letters - there's a pleasing symmetry to that Smile

CayrolBaaaskin · 07/06/2020 22:59

Saul is a lovely name. Are you Jewish op - it’s common in Jewish community as a name. Do you like Samuel? That was one of mine if I ever had any boys (I didn’t).

@Emmagen Cain was one of our other contenders so I’m not too worried about the bible story!.

@quicknameymcnamechange DS is 6’2 and I’m 5’2, so he probably won’t be huge!

Are you and your husband tall? We had a really tall guy at school Called Paul and everyone called took the piss out of him and caked him tall Paul.... just popped in to my head!

Emmagen · 07/06/2020 22:39

The better call thing popped into my head but it wouldn't be an issue. By the time school came around it will likely be completely forgotten so he friends won't ever make the link.

The bible story is more of an issue for me, if I remember rightly Saul wasn't great? I know he reformed but didn't he change his name at the same time? I must say though that the last time I hard anything about the story I was about 13 and that was a fair few years ago! Plus I've known a few Cains so Saul is nothing in comparison!

Other than that it's a good name, recognisable and fits with his siblings plus easy to say and spell!

howlatthetrees · 07/06/2020 22:36

It’s nice to hear such positive feedback!. Thank you all.

I absolutely love Saul. Gorgeous name

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 07/06/2020 22:24

Not my taste but there's nothing offensive about it...

backseatcookers · 07/06/2020 22:22

I think Saul might be the one then! I love it, it's a gorgeous name Smile

howlatthetrees · 07/06/2020 22:20

@backseatcookers I like Caleb but I prefer Saul, love Joshua but not Josh, the same with Zachary, Leo is lovely but I think too close to Levi and we have a Jacob in the family!

backseatcookers · 07/06/2020 22:17

Oh and ps I love Saul!

Just sharing other ideas I thought you might like based on your other boys' names but Saul is absolutely lovely.

backseatcookers · 07/06/2020 22:15

Caleb, Joshua, Zachary, Leo, Jacob?

ofwarren · 07/06/2020 22:15

Really good name. Good choice.

howlatthetrees · 07/06/2020 22:14

It’s fine! @CakeCakeCake21, we’ve watched it too and I really liked the name when we watched it. Just not sure if it’s a bad connotation

OP posts:
CakeCakeCake21 · 07/06/2020 22:12

@howlatthetrees - no, sorry, I just happen to be watching it at this very moment and the appositeness (if that’s a word!) made me smile!

howlatthetrees · 07/06/2020 22:12

Thank you! Mainly positive comments

We like Seth but it will be pronounced ‘Sef’ by most of the family so that puts me off it. Love Samuel but not Sam. Elijah seems too close to Ezra for me and Noam isn’t to my taste
