Please could I ask your opinions on the name Della?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It makes me think of a brassy mum in a soap opera. No idea why. Just screams 'works in the pub in Emmerdale' to me.

This is very specific, but I’m a huge Prime Suspect fan and I think of the name Della Mornay, the victim in season 1. Sorry, OP. It’s a lovely name in and of itself.

I love Della! It’s lovely. Also reminds me of a lovely friend named Adela.

My girl is a Della. So I am very biased. She is always complimented on her name by strangers and we've only ever met two other Della's in the past 15 years. She was sometimes accidentally called Stella as a young child, but that is because DD has a slight lisp! Makes a change from all the 'Bella's' out there.

I have loved this name since there was a Della on EastEnders in the 90’s

DramaAlpaca · 02/06/2020 00:41

It's OK. It makes a refreshing change from Bella (which it will get misheard as a lot, I'm sure) and is more modern sounding than Delia.

Mnthrowaway20202 · 02/06/2020 00:38

It sounds like a nickname

Wheresthebiffer2 · 02/06/2020 00:35

It's okay, nicer than Delia anyhow.

Anon20201 · 01/06/2020 23:12

I think it sounds pretty. It’s similar to Bella which I love the sound of.
