Avianna

We’ve been struggling to agree on names for months but today this name appeared and we both instantly agreed to loving it.

What do other people think as it is not popular?

Also, at the moment we’re thinking Avianna Violet but not sold on a middle name so any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Avia+anna

Avia is actually a name. I had no idea.

LotusClover · 02/06/2020 16:04

Ariana/Arianna Violet would sound much better, as you won't have the repeated "v" sound. Avianna does look and sound a little bit made up.

Mucklowe · 02/06/2020 15:49

Sounds like a vaccine for bird flu!

AcrobaticCardigan · 02/06/2020 13:48

Awful. Sounds made up. Also - the avian link!

123Dancewithme · 02/06/2020 13:41

Birds/airline. Arianna or Evanna would be better.

Kokeshi123 · 02/06/2020 01:46

It sounds like a mashup of a lot of popular name trends at the moment---the "Av-"/"Ev-" names (Ava, Aviary, Evelyn, Evie etc.) and the frilly names like Eliana and Aria and Lilia and all that.

Also, we will probably have an outbreak of avian flu in the next few years, since the 2020s seem set to be the decade that keeps on giving.

incywincyspiders · 02/06/2020 01:19

Possibly outing but my sister is called Evanna.. maybe a suggestion for you?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/06/2020 01:09

I think it could easily look like Arianna in cursive handwriting, and I'm not not sure it's well known enough for people to know immediately what it should be.

Mumbliboo · 01/06/2020 23:55

I agree with others that it sounds like a brand name, or it sounds like it's meant to be Arianna but pronounced / spelt wrong.

OtterBe4 · 01/06/2020 23:51

It does mean bird like.
I thought a. bottled water or airline, it’s more like a brand than a name.

Shortfeet · 01/06/2020 23:46

Sounds like a new mid priced Renault

Topseyt · 01/06/2020 23:45

I'm not keen, I must say. It makes me think of avian flu too.

I quite like Marianna, or Adriana. I'm not a fan of Violet however it is used. If you aren't sold on a middle name then consider doing without one.

RyvitaBrevis · 01/06/2020 23:34

It sounds like an airline to me, sorry. Adrianna and Arianna are similar sounding and slightly less unusual.

user1493494961 · 01/06/2020 22:58

Awful, sounds made up.

ThisTooShallPassHopefully · 01/06/2020 22:58

It's not made up and I think it's a lovely name.
I know a little Avianna and she is a bright happy little girl. So when I think of the name it only has positive connotations for me.
I do think your accent could have a huge impact on how it sounds though, I'm no good at writing out how it would sound, but imagine it with a variety of accents and you can see how it changes it, much more than other names.
Ultimately, if you both love it go for it.

whattodo2019 · 01/06/2020 22:53

Sorry but it sounds made up and ridiculous.
Avain bird flu and Evian water spring to mind along with spelling mistakes.
I think other poster have suggested some
Reasonable alternatives

NannyR · 01/06/2020 22:48

I thought airline/airports when I saw it. I'm not keen personally.

Level75 · 01/06/2020 22:43

I'm not keen. Seems a bit try hard/made up.

DramaAlpaca · 01/06/2020 22:36

It really does make me think of birds.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 01/06/2020 22:23

Evian water.

LynetteScavo · 01/06/2020 22:17

I'm struggling a bit with it - is it pronounced Avi-Anna?

Umm used to Giles names ending in "arner" a Adriana, Tatiana, Liliana,

Immigrantsong · 01/06/2020 21:48

What about Ariana, Marriana, Sofiana?

Mylittlepony374 · 01/06/2020 21:46

I thought of Havianas, the flip flops.

justanotherparent1810 · 01/06/2020 21:45

That’s a very mixed bag of opinions.

We don’t want a one syllable middle name as our surname is one syllable, 2 syllables would work best

I know Avian is in the name but that didn’t jump out at me because the pronunciation is so different. I like it!
