Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DramaAlpaca · 02/06/2020 02:05

Cassius is the best of the bunch.

Aclh13 · 02/06/2020 01:17

@K1mberlylauren you know my opinion, go for Tareyon x

KrakowDawn · 01/06/2020 23:52

Cassius is often pronounced "cashus" in UK, just be aware.

Ellmau · 01/06/2020 23:44

Cassius.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/06/2020 17:50

Cassius is a good strong name. Also Casimir is great.

Isaiah is lovely, if you meant that. Otherwise Isiah just looks like a spelling mistake, I'm afraid.

Tareyon is not to my taste at all.

daisypond · 01/06/2020 17:44

Cassius.
I’ve never heard of Tareyon or Ishiah and wouldn’t be sure how to say them.

SionnachRua · 01/06/2020 17:30

I am not aware of any particular names that belong solely to, or in any way describe, people who can claim 'mixed' heritage. (At least not in the U.K.) So I can think of no reason whatsoever (other than parental preference) why mixed heritage children should be excluded from use of those names which provide the fewest barriers to achievement.

Oh please. OP wanted advice on which of her three names sounded strongest. She did not ask for strong names in general.

You suggested an entirely different set of names based on the royal family, as white British as can be...play dumb if you like but it isn't fooling anyone.

SnuggyBuggy · 01/06/2020 17:02

Cassius is my favourite out of those

locked2020 · 01/06/2020 16:54

Cassius

Lynda07 · 01/06/2020 16:52

Isiah

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 01/06/2020 16:52

To be honest I find it astonishing that I'm effectively being schooled on exactly what names a mixed heritage child is 'allowed' to bear. (Fwiw I really love Cassius!)

The OP spoke of 'strength' as the quality she wanted the name to have. Strength, in any community, comes from acquiring those things held by the most powerful cohort.

I am not aware of any particular names that belong solely to, or in any way describe, people who can claim 'mixed' heritage. I suspect some posters forget that they do not know the person whose post they object to. Generally best not to make assumptions ...

Another vote for Cassius here

finallychangedmyusername · 01/06/2020 16:18

I vote Cassius or Isaiah

@PerditaProvokesEnmity, check your racism.

That comment was not racist. It was an acknowledgement of the fact that racism exists.

Londonmummy66 · 01/06/2020 16:09

I like Cassius but remember the most famous Roman one was an assassin with "a lean and hungry look".

Blursula · 01/06/2020 16:03

This is your fourth or fifth thread asking for opinions on the same names OP. It’s getting you the same answers. And if your partner doesn’t like any of them, which is what you’ve mentioned, I don’t know why asking about the same names again are going to solve your problems?

Charlieandthechocolatecake · 01/06/2020 15:58

@PerditaProvokesEnmity

I understand you completely.

My partner has an unusual name. He was struggling to get a job. The moment he changed his name on his application to his middle (more common) name, the interviews and job offers came flying in.

I have a very common name. I am not white. I have no doubt in my mind that my name has got me to the interview stage many a time.

Its a sad fact of life.

ofwarren · 01/06/2020 15:53

Cassius is Mohammad Ali's real name so that's definitely a strong sounding name to me.

I like Cassius but not the other two!

SionnachRua · 01/06/2020 15:41

It's not the sound of a name that brings strength but its associations. If you're wanting something that might be helpful on a CV think about who has life easy in your locality. In the U.K. Charles/Charlie, William, George, Louis

You are kidding me, right? Kid of mixed heritage, parents want a name that reflects that and suits them but let's suggest the whitest names going.

OP I would use Cassius. Not mad about the other two but Cassius has a lovely sound.

Tlollj · 01/06/2020 15:37

Blimey ain’t this poor kid got a name yet!
Cassius. There you go, have that one.

Ughmaybenot · 01/06/2020 15:36

Cassius. I love Isaiah but not Ishiah. Taeryon, I really don’t like, sounds like a fantasy character of some kind.

howlatthetrees · 01/06/2020 15:35

Cassius
