Hi all,

Me and DH have mixed feelings about this girls name (he loves it and I keep changing my mind lol).

If you heard this name (pronounced; Kez-EE-ah) what would you think? Who would you expect to use it? Do you like how it sounds?

Don’t be afraid of being rude in any way! I want your gut reaction lol x

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
wiltingflower · 31/05/2020 18:00

I thought it might be a religious or unfortunately a chavvy name at first

WyfOfBathe · 31/05/2020 17:58

I had a childhood friend called Keziah. Her siblings all had fairly unusual Biblical names too and her DF was a vicar, so I like the name but I might assume you were religious (I don't know if this is true/would bother you)

Inthemuckheap · 31/05/2020 17:57

Prefer Keisha personally. Keziah will be shortened to Kezzy

TeacupDrama · 31/05/2020 17:56

to me it's a Hebrew Jewish Christian Old Testament name really nice name

MrsWooster · 31/05/2020 17:53

Another that thinks of the book ‘The Didakoi’. God, I loved that book. The miniature caravan...!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 31/05/2020 17:52

Sounds made up although obviously it isnt

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 31/05/2020 17:52

I know two: seems to be popular in Cornwall! No problems spelling or pronouncing it 'round eer.

DramaAlpaca · 31/05/2020 17:52

Sorry, forgot to say I like it.

DramaAlpaca · 31/05/2020 17:51

@whiteroseredrose

Kizzy which was a children's TV programme in the 1970s.
Same here, and the book.
Nohero · 31/05/2020 17:50

I knew one at uni and she was startlingly clever so I think of someone very bright.

beachbreeze · 31/05/2020 17:49

Always liked it. I only knew one, who calls herself Kezi.

helpfulperson · 31/05/2020 17:48

Sorry, should also have said that I think it's very pretty and would use it.

GooodMythicalMorning · 31/05/2020 17:48

The film Notting Hill but only cos that's the only time I've heard the name before. Its quite pretty.

helpfulperson · 31/05/2020 17:47

Another one whose first thought is 'dugdale'. It's interesting how names that are initially a bit unusual become perfectly usual when you hear them frequently.

FlashesOfRage · 31/05/2020 17:43

Also lol at my giant name change fail 👌

TangibleTuTu · 31/05/2020 17:42

It's one of those names that posh families use first and then it cycles down to become less posh in the next 20-40 years. In the 1970s/80s all Sophies and Olivias were posh. So were the Sashas and Jemimas. That's what it reminds me of. So cutting edge at the moment where lots of people don't use it and are a bit sniffy.

AnnaNimmity · 31/05/2020 17:42

Yes also Kizzy in the Diddakoi

SundayReilly · 31/05/2020 17:39

Gipsy travellers.
One came to my school in the 1970s that was her name .
She was very pretty and a nice girl .
I liked her name then I was 10
Less keen now

0v9c99f9g9d939d9f9g9h8h · 31/05/2020 17:38

The Diddakoi had a really appallingly graphic description of child abuse and should come with a health warning.

Devlesko · 31/05/2020 17:37

A diddakoi is a half gypsy. There's only one family that used to be able to use this title, the Taylors. not sure about now.

Lovely name though, and you could use a good middle name like Rose .

FlashesOfRage · 31/05/2020 17:36

@IndiaMay 😂 I’m loving it! Yes, I didn’t want to say too soon but this is one of my concerns, I’d like “rah” rather than chav haha x

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkMaud · 31/05/2020 17:36

Lovely name (and our beautiful and talented neighbour)

0v9c99f9g9d939d9f9g9h8h · 31/05/2020 17:36

The Old Testament.

Destroyedpeople · 31/05/2020 17:35

Yes! The Diddakoi....of course. That is why it makes me think of Romany gypsies...

00100001 · 31/05/2020 17:35

As long as you don't mind her being called

Keez-ee-ah, key-zy-ah, kez-ee-ah, kez-yah, key-zee-ah or kez-eye-ah etc
Or having to pronounce/correct her name for ever.
Then go for it.
