Hi,
Really intrigued to know your favourite and least liked of our shortlist.....
Magnus (Gus)

Edward (Ned)
Barnaby (Boo)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/05/2020 20:27

Favourite Rupert
Least favourite Magnus , and think Gus is a weird shortening from it. Angus would be better.

4amWitchingHour · 28/05/2020 20:27

In order:

Barnaby
Edward
Rupert
Magnus

Don't like Magnus at all!

BabyDust13 · 28/05/2020 20:26

My favourite is definitely Barnaby my least favourite is Magnus 😊

bridgetreilly · 28/05/2020 20:25

In order, I like:
Magnus
Barnaby
Edward
Rupert.

And honestly, I would just wait and see about nicknames rather than deciding in advance.

Peachbubble · 28/05/2020 20:22

Rupert
Magnus
Edward
Barnaby

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 28/05/2020 20:21

Best - Edward (I'd use Ted as a nn)
Worst - Magnus.

I really like Gus but would use it on its own.
Boo is fucking ridiculous.

I am biased, as my son is Magnus, so this is obviously my favourite. I am so pleased we chose the name. It’s lovely telling people his name, as it’s always well received, particularly by men, I notice. I think it’s the sort of name many men would quite like for themselves. “Ooh, that’s a good strong name!” is the most common response. Occasionally, it’s met with a bit of a giggle, which I quite like too. We’ve yet to meet another in three years.

Rupert was on my list too, but DP is former military, and Rupert is a derogatory term in those circles. I’d still happily use it though.

Edward is a lovely name, but it’s more popular, which would put me off.

Not keen on Barnaby. I think it’s cute for a little one, but for a fully grown man, it’s too soft for my taste.

Magnus (Gus) - I love Magnus and it would be my favourite but I don't like Gus

Rupert (Ru) - I like it and we considered it but it just didn't feel very us. Like Roo

Edward (Ned) I find Edward boring as they are everywhere. I quite like Ted but didn't realise Ned was a nn for Edward (Thought Benedict was the longer name for Ned)

Barnaby (Boo) dislike Boo but love Barnby. I like Barney and Barnes too but prefer just Barnaby

CheshireCats · 28/05/2020 20:19

Least favourite Rupert (and Ru), Also do not like Barnaby or Boo (bloody awful nn)
Love Magnus and Edward.

Buddywoo · 28/05/2020 20:18

Magnus top favourite. I love that name and you don't hear it often.

isitamapletree · 28/05/2020 20:17

Favourite: Barnaby but nn Barney
Least favourite: Magnus

MikeUniformMike · 28/05/2020 20:16

Magnus (Gus) yes
Rupert (Ru) no
Edward (Ned) yes
Barnaby (Boo) yes

I dislike all the nn apart from Gus
Boo is too girly
Ed/Eddy is fine and Barney is fine

Edward is probably be the easiest to live with as a name but Ned is an insult

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 28/05/2020 20:15

Oh they're all cute and the nicknames make them just adorable!!
I like Magnus best, think it's Gus that won me over.

userabcname · 28/05/2020 20:15

My favourite would be Barnaby or Edward. I don't like Magnus.

BeMorePacific · 28/05/2020 20:14

I love them all. But if I had to I’d say least favourite is Rupert. Most favourite Magnus xx
