Hazel or Robyn?

Thoughts? Or neither?

We don't know what we are having yet, but we find boys names much easier than girls! One consideration is that we really like Robert for a boy, so using Robyn would rule that out for future DC.

@nervousnelly8 the other cool letters are q, k and x Wink

Aclh13 · 28/05/2020 21:39

Prefer robyn, but Robert is a great name so maybe instead of Hazel something like hallie?

5LeafPenguin · 28/05/2020 21:39

Hazel

nervousnelly8 · 28/05/2020 21:38

@DominaShantotto this baby is due in mid December, which does make Robyn feel very fitting!! I also love the nn Bobbi. DS has a fairly traditional name with a relatively unusual shortening. So the lack of "cool" nn's with Hazel is one one of the things which makes me hesitate.

@badg3r that made me smile! What are the other "cool" letters?!

Hazel is a beautiful name that suits every age group. It will grow with her 😊

Smarshian · 28/05/2020 20:53

We almost went with Hazel for DD. I love it!

DramaAlpaca · 28/05/2020 20:51

Hazel for me.

DominaShantotto · 28/05/2020 20:50

I am biased - but I adore Robyn (I have one) - nicknamed Bobbi or Birdie or "Stop staring at that I'm talking to you" (which is more of a nickname for older children with selective deafness when what's being said doesn't suit them). The drawback is it's bloody expensive near Christmas when cute clothes come out with robins on and you get really really tempted just because they're robins after all.

Hazel is still a bit mid-70s for me.

SoberCurious · 28/05/2020 20:46

Hazel

badg3r · 28/05/2020 20:42

I like both but preference for hazel as a girl's name. This is going to sounds ridiculous, but I love that it has a z in it!! I always used to wish I had "cool" letter in my name as a kid 🤣

TempsPerdu · 28/05/2020 19:09

Oh that’s a hard one - both lovely and we’re both on our list for DD. I think Hazel just edges it though.

SpecialKakapo · 28/05/2020 14:08

Hazel is lovely. I work with a Hazel and have always been jealous of her name.

river12 · 28/05/2020 14:06

Robyn is really nice

daisypond · 28/05/2020 14:01

I’m not keen on either, really, but Hazel is better than Robyn.

Kokeshi123 · 28/05/2020 13:47

Hazel! Robyn is too gender-ambiguous.

MyBlueMoonbeam · 28/05/2020 12:53

Hazel is a lovely name
Don't like y used instead of i in names

Edenember · 28/05/2020 12:49

I prefer Robyn, I think.

Whatsyourflava · 28/05/2020 11:58

Both lovely. Slight preference for hazel

ProfessorPlumInTheLibrary · 28/05/2020 11:38

Hazel is beautiful

MamaBearThius · 28/05/2020 11:12

I'm having a Hazel-Rose this time next week Grin

nervousnelly8 · 28/05/2020 11:10

Thanks everyone. I really loved Hazel before I had DS1 - if he had been a girl he would have been Hazel. I went off it a bit when thinking for DC2 but seem to be falling in love again!
