Boys names - one syllable?

Dalmore30 · 22/05/2020 16:35

Hello,

I’m expecting my first baby in 5 weeks and am still nowhere closer to settling on a name.
I like boys names that are one syllable or end in a ‘y’ sound.

Any suggestion very much appreciated!

Here are some I like but partner doesn’t :/

Finn
Ritchie
Bailey
Cove
Oli

I mentioned Perry on another thread, might work.

Y sounds are all two syllable. Y is the second syllable. If you want one sharp syllable name there are lots including the above and:

Ben
Dan
Dev
Ed
Fred
Ged
Ger
Hal
Jon
Ken
Len
Mal
Ned
Per
Rod
Ray
Sid

What about Cole? Cove is too reminiscent of Covid IMHO

Dalmore30 · 22/05/2020 22:46

Very good point re Covid. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that Confused

Cove? No. Sounds like it is short for Covid.

I like Cove, and I know a baby one. Be prepared for a lot of people to associate it with Covid at this time though! (Not that it will matter a few months down the line)

AragornsManlyStubble · 22/05/2020 18:12

I love Cove. Smile

But I also suggest Bay

Not keen on Cove, it's shorthand for a "bit of a lad" I think. He would be the naughty boy at school! Wink
