Elowen I like as pretty and uncommon, but there are so many E names lately.
Similar theme?

I also loved Thea. My best friend took it last year. Blush

I also like Italian and Spanish sounding names.

So pretty but also makes sense on an adult. No old lady and overdone flowers.

Hit me up! Grin

I think Elowen is beautiful!

Arwen, Anwen, Bronwen quite similar

RJnomore1 · 22/05/2020 21:40

Elowen is pretty. Elwen too.

Just tell them you’re calling her ermintrude and stick to it. They’ll be so relieved anything else will be great once she is born.

ShellsandSand · 22/05/2020 21:38

@Spirali I have a Gia. She suits it so much. Sad to hear that it hasn't got MN seal of approval Grin

I love Elowen, it was the name I'd use if having a girl. Except I was going to use Elowyn, so I could call her Wynnie for short.

I think you should use Elowen, such a lovely name!

One of my daughters friends is called Elowen and it's lovely.

Does get shortened to Ellie though

I think the island of St Lucia is pronounced more or less like Loosha. But usually the name is either Luchia or Lusia.

If you like Thea, OP, how about Althea, Dorothea or Anthea? She might have a different nn as a baby, but she also might be a Thea later on.

LongPauseNoReply · 22/05/2020 17:51

Lucia to an Italian is Loo-chia (like the seeds)

Eliana
Erica (the name for heather in Italian)
Alessia
Aria
Giada
Ilenia

Some Italian ones for you!

meuca · 22/05/2020 17:44

I second Lucia! A friend had one recently. I always thought it was pronounced Lucy-a but she is Loosha which makes me realise I’ve probably always been pronouncing it wrong...

Lucía in Spanish is pronounced loo-THEE-a or loo-SEE-a, depending on your accent. In Italian it would be loo-CHEE-a. I've never heard it said Loosha!

Blueuggboots · 22/05/2020 17:42

Lucia is pronounced Loo-cheeeea.
