What was the Evie of your day?

When I was at school everyone was Emma, Rachel, Rebecca and a few variants of Katy thrown in. Also quite a few Hollies which is odd. I was born in the 1990s.

Caroline was a ridiculously popular name in my school. In one of my classes at secondary there were 4 Carolines. In ds2s class the name Lilly and variants were rather popular (thank goodness ds2 was not a dd as I was planning on Lilly!). There were 3 Lillys, and 3 nearly Lillys!

I was born in the mid/late 60s and was at school with a lot of Susans, Traceys and Donnas. I don't recall there being a particularly common name among the boys but there were several Garys in my school year and David and Steven were fairly popular.

I have a name that was also very popular and has been mentioned on this thread. My mother has always hated her name because at the time she was born it was considered horribly clunky and old-fashioned - she was named after an older relative. Her name is now popular and seems well-liked on MN. Name trends are odd.
