Just posting after this lovely suggestion from a Mumsnetter to see what you think?

I think I love it a little and have found it hard to love a name yet. I wanted something quite chic and underused, which was what my original post was seeking.

Love it, it's my mum's best friend's name. To me it's a mid-century gem, and I've never understood why it isn't more widely used.

Skyla2005 · 22/05/2020 08:16

It’s lovely

AdvoCat · 22/05/2020 08:07

Really helpful all, thank you!

I really like it, it’s one of my top 10 girls names, but I have a son called Ellis so can’t use it.

Kokeshi123 · 22/05/2020 03:12

It's a lovely name and very chic.

saverssavedsavanak · 21/05/2020 23:08

It's the name of my best friend who is the most wonderful human being in the world so it's a yes from me. Beautiful name ❤️

WhoWhatWheree · 21/05/2020 23:05

It’s my middle name and I hate itHmm

DramaAlpaca · 21/05/2020 23:04

I love it, it does have that elegant, chic feeling and is very underused. I've only ever met one, she was lovely and a bit quirky if that helps Grin

Oly4 · 21/05/2020 23:03

Gorgeous name

worstwitch18 · 21/05/2020 23:02

As long as your last name isn't Lane, it's great.

AdvoCat · 21/05/2020 23:01

@user1493494961 that'll be me lol! I've heard it pronounced both ways here. We'd go with Low-is.

In Wales, Lois is pronounced Loyce (or something like that, a Welsh speaker will be along to correct me).

schnubbins · 21/05/2020 22:53

lovely

Lurleene · 21/05/2020 22:50

I wanted to call my DD Lois but her dad vetoed it. I think it's a lovely name.

villamariavintrapp · 21/05/2020 22:49

I think she's talking about Louis?

AdvoCat · 21/05/2020 22:48

@justanotherneighinparadise why a toilet association if you don't mind me asking?

OP posts:
villamariavintrapp · 21/05/2020 22:48

Love it

justanotherneighinparadise · 21/05/2020 22:38

I liked it but I was concerned people would pronounce it Lewis. Then I realised that even if they pronounced it correctly they’d always be an association with a toilet and maybe he’d get bullied. So I went with something else 🤦🏻‍♀️

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 21/05/2020 22:34

Love it

Lou573 · 21/05/2020 22:34

There’s one at my son’s nursery. It’s a nice name.
