Just posting after this lovely suggestion from a Mumsnetter to see what you think?

I think I love it a little and have found it hard to love a name yet. I wanted something quite chic and underused, which was what my original post was seeking.

I want to like it, it would really fit with my style but I went to school with one who wasn't the nicest and dh loves family guy, which I kind stand, and she is an annoying character in that

CorianderLord · 22/05/2020 13:21

Family Guy - "Shut Up, Lois"

SnowdropFox · 22/05/2020 12:18

Aww no! His reason?

AdvoCat · 22/05/2020 11:41

DH has just shot down my dream of having a little Lois 😢😢😢

If you live in north Wales you will correct ‘loice’ a lot. But I love the English pronunciation.

MashedSpud · 22/05/2020 10:25

Family Guy.

Ivegotabigfatwardrobe · 22/05/2020 10:23

I really hate it sorry! Always have. I don’t like the way it looks or sounds. Also I’d think of family guy

AvonCallingBarksdale · 22/05/2020 10:23

Lovely name. I’ve never heard it pronounced as Loyce.

rarathenoisylioness · 22/05/2020 10:22

Love it!

Spied · 22/05/2020 10:21

Thumbs up!

SnowsInWater · 22/05/2020 10:19

Gorgeous.

Elvesdontdomagic · 22/05/2020 10:19

This is my 16yo DD's favourite girl name! She's always going on about her daughter will be Lois one day! I like it! She's chosen Lois Amelia which is pretty, she will probably change her mind one day but it's cute!

She also called one of our cats Lois!

Glitterbubbles · 22/05/2020 10:15

Love it!

RickOShay · 22/05/2020 10:11

I like Lois a lot.

SnowdropFox · 22/05/2020 10:09

I quite like it! Not fussed about the meaning though so I'd probably pair it with a mn with a meaning that compliments. That's just me though!

HarrietTheShy · 22/05/2020 09:43

Love it. :) My first association is with the mum on Malcolm in the Middle, then Lois Lane. Family Guy didn't even enter into my head.

ElectricTonight · 22/05/2020 09:39

Just reminds me of family guy and I wouldn't use it for that reason.

GeorgiaWeLoveYou · 22/05/2020 09:39

@sel2223
I love it. It reminds me of a really pretty, popular girl I went to first school with....everyone wanted to be her friend lol.

Can I ask roughly what region you went to school in? Sounds like we may have known the same Lois Grin

GeorgiaWeLoveYou · 22/05/2020 09:37

Love it OP.

I've only ever known one Lois. A simple yet classic and elegant name.

MrsJoshNavidi · 22/05/2020 09:36

Depends whether it's Lo-iss or Loyce. I've heard it pronounced both ways. Lo-iss I like. Loyce is dreadful.

ITonyah · 22/05/2020 09:30

I like it. It was on "my list" for dd3 14 years ago, along with Gloria

Dillybear · 22/05/2020 09:29

It’s a lovely name

Snooks1971 · 22/05/2020 09:27

It’s my Nanna’s name - she’s 102, and it’s also DD’s second name. Love it!

Powerplant · 22/05/2020 09:23

I really like it I used to work with a lovely nurse called Lois - go for it 😊

sel2223 · 22/05/2020 09:22

I love it. It reminds me of a really pretty, popular girl I went to first school with....everyone wanted to be her friend lol.
