Just wanting opinions on the above names or if you can think of any nice names instead. Thank you

Does Hallie rhyme with Sally?

CurlyEndive · 22/05/2020 21:25

Felicity is my favourite and Fliss is a fab nickname.

lozpants · 22/05/2020 21:24

My friend has a Maya but she spelt it Mya to avoid mispronunciation and tbh I prefer it spelt that way Smile

Olthe · 22/05/2020 13:36

The surname is 2 syllables and I’d pronounce Maya as in My-ah, it does bother me a slight bit that it’s fairly popular. Thanks for the suggestions!

I like Felicity a lot.

Would Maya be May-uh or My-uh?

DoctorBambino · 22/05/2020 12:02

Hallie is my fav of those 3

CambsAlways · 22/05/2020 11:48

I like maya but would spell it Maia

Dillybear · 22/05/2020 11:41

I think Hallie sounds like a nickname and not a ‘proper’ name, although I think it sounds nice as a nickname. I always think names should grow with you as you age (and feel a lot of children at the moment will outgrow their diminutive names). But that is just my opinion! The other two names are lovely but Maya is very popular at the moment. If that doesn’t bother you though (no reason it should!) then go for it.

Edenember · 22/05/2020 11:37

Another one for Felicity 👍

NaePies · 22/05/2020 11:33

Halle Smile

I think Hallie is a bit down market compared with Felicity. Maya is somewhere in between and lots of similar names out there.

LiviLoggs · 21/05/2020 23:53

I have always loved the names Harlow and Myla which are unique and uncommon but not too modern. I really like Hallie too though but I think as they get older it might be too much of a nick name. I know three felicity’s - one who goes by fee, fliss or tee and one who goes by lissy so it varies.

SionnachRua · 21/05/2020 23:45

Don't call her Felicia, it's reminiscent of the whole Bye Felicia thing.

I like all three. Agree with the pp saying spell Hallie as Halle though.

I would probably go for:

  1. Halle
  2. Felicity
  3. Maya
wellerhugs5 · 21/05/2020 20:11

Oooh, I like all of them! I think if I were choosing it would depend on how many syllables are in the surname. Felicity would suit a one syllable surname, more than the others I reckon x

Spied · 21/05/2020 20:03

Of the three, I like Hallie best.

The pronunciation of Maya would really put me off.

bertiebottseveryfalvourbeans · 21/05/2020 19:59

Hallie - I prefer Hailey and Hallie for short as when she is a adult she might want a less nicknamey kind of name

Felicity - Pretty in theory but a but a bit girly girly, so if she is more tomboyish it would not work

Maya - Nice name in theory again, but very very overused, and teachers and the like are apparently (acording to dd) ALWAYS pronouncing it wrong

what about Natasha, Isabelle, Olivia or Jade ??

YakkityYakYakYak · 21/05/2020 19:28

Other names on our list were:

Mia
Freya
Cecilia
Florence
Safiya

Roselilly36 · 21/05/2020 19:24

Verity is also a lovely girl name.

YakkityYakYakYak · 21/05/2020 19:21

I think they’re all lovely.

We have a Maya and do get issues with pronunciation. We say it My-A (like Maya Angelou) but most people say May-A. Doesn’t really bother me but depends on how irritating you would find it.

Ellmau · 21/05/2020 19:08

Or Felicia is lovely too.

Ellmau · 21/05/2020 19:06

Felicity.

Whatsyourflava · 21/05/2020 17:21

Delilah
Edith
Clementine
Margot
Martha
Ottilie

Whatsyourflava · 21/05/2020 17:20

If you like Felicity how about Jemima?

Whatsyourflava · 21/05/2020 17:19

I love Felicity ❤️

Olthe · 21/05/2020 17:18

Thank you, yeh I’m not sure on the nickname Flick so maybe Felicity isn’t the name I’ll go with although I like Fliss.
