Jack or Frank? Frank would possibly have nickname Frankie

I prefer Jack to Frankie

Milnes94 · 22/05/2020 19:59

Definitely Jack!

Liddell · 20/05/2020 23:47

Jack

DramaAlpaca · 20/05/2020 23:35

Jack by a million miles.

I can't bear Frank or Frankie.

BeMorePacific · 20/05/2020 23:28

Jack xxx

Ninkanink · 20/05/2020 19:08

Jack was very much commonplace up until very recently, if that matters to you. Might still be right up there on most popular boys’ names list, although I haven’t checked.

I’m not a super big fan of either of them but if I had to choose it would probably be Frank. But that mostly makes me think of Frankfurter, Frank N Furtur or Frankenstein’s monster. So maybe i’d actually pick Jack.

Jack

pilates · 20/05/2020 18:39

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 20/05/2020 18:39

Frank is more unusual

Lyricallie · 20/05/2020 16:59

Definitely Jack.

Ylostigres · 20/05/2020 16:53

Hmmm it's tough. They're both popular where we are (Frankie more so than just Frank) we know a girl Frankie, and 2 boy Frankie's, 2 Jacks and a Jackson! Also know a Franklin, which I think is nicest for a boy.

MissMatty2hats · 20/05/2020 16:51

I have a 25 year old Frank, when he was little he was Frankie but it just morphed into Frank as he grew up. He is Francis on his birth cert though, just in case he gets made a peer or becomes a very sensible something!

Shoequeen1 · 20/05/2020 16:48

@bertiebottseveryfalvourbeans That is funny!!! Something that would never even enter my head to think of!!

@IncrediblySadToo I like both to be honest, but I am more drawn to Jack than Frank. My husband likes both but prefers Frank! Naming babies is hard work!!

I'm not too keen on Frank and helpmum2003 hit the nail on the head with the whole Francessca thing, I also think jack (or jackson) would only be fine with a interesting surname, because Jack Smith or Jack White doesnt really do it for me ...

Adelais · 20/05/2020 16:36

Frank

blancheduboiss · 20/05/2020 16:31

I know a Frank (young teenager) - really suits him! Jack just does nothing for me at all.

IncrediblySadToo · 20/05/2020 16:26

Of the two, Jack - but I wouldn't choose either myself. Surely you can try again and find something you both like?!

Nate?

HollyBen · 20/05/2020 16:22

I much prefer Jack. I am not keen on Frank and really dislike Frankie

helpmum2003 · 20/05/2020 16:21

Jack. (Round here a Jackson would be naughty...)

Frank is dated for me and Frankie short for Francesca.

Letthemysterybe · 20/05/2020 16:21

Both cute names. I know a few little Franks, and have taught a load of Jacks who must now all be young men, but I don’t know any little Jacks so I don’t think it is as popular/common as it once was.

Similar names to me are Sam, Fred, Stan.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 20/05/2020 16:17

Jack
Frankie at least where I live in way more common amongst younger children

bertiebottseveryfalvourbeans · 20/05/2020 16:15

Jack, though maybe more keen on Jackson becuase all the teachers tend to be extra wary of the Jacks Hmm
