To feel that you used up your favourite baby name with your first child

Hi all. I’m due with boy #2 at the end of August. Our nearly 3YO is called Arthur. I’ve had so many suggestions on names but I can’t shake the fact that I feel like I’ve already used up my favourite boys name. I know this is completely first world problems but I just knew what our son would be called from very early on. Approaching the final trimester and still clueless. Anyone in the same boat?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes! Expecting DS2 and feel a bit sad that his name will never be as special as DS1 as I just don’t love any as much as we have weeks to go.

Having a girl would be so much easier with names...

Does Arthur have a middle name that you love? My parents gave my older brother their favourite first and middle names and then when my little brother came along they gave him my older bro’s middle name as his first because they couldn’t think of one they liked more.

Yes I felt a little like that worried we wouldn't find a name for #2 we loved as much for #1 but we did. My youngest name is slightly more common and of a different style but we love them both equally (names and children).
Arthur is a great name I think it goes well with many different styles.
What are some you have considered?

Definitely! When DD2 was born I wished we hadn't given DD1 the middle name we did so we could have used it for her. As it is we've given her a name I regret and am not happy with.

I had the same! I'd always wanted to use my first boys name, then my second DS was born i was a bit stumped.

But he just suited the name we gave him, which actually wasn't on our lists.

What's your partners choices? If you aren't set on a name look at some family names?

I have the opposite problem in that I could quite cheerfully name every baby in the hospital.

I do find it easier to decide on boys names than girls.

Do you have any names you like?
How about Freddy, Edward, Henry?
