What do you think of Lemi as a girl's name?

Hi Everyone

Really struggling to find an unusual name for my girl.

My son nicknamed her Lemi when we told him he was having a sister. We've been calling her that throughout the pregnancy and that name has now stuck!!

Need an objective opinion about the name! What do people think??

Makes me think of Lemon and Lemming. It's just not a very attractive sound.

LordOftheRingz · 18/05/2020 09:34

Sorry, I would not inflict a gerbil with that name.

people use Lemi as let me in some parts/

devoncreamtea · 18/05/2020 09:31

I know 2 little girls called Wren and Fern. They are quite similar to your choices?
Nothing wrong with any of your ideas though - choose the name you love, that my advice!

Aclh13 · 18/05/2020 02:48

I mean it's your choice and unique at least, if your looking for something similar I agree with above remi is a good one

mathanxiety · 18/05/2020 02:02

Lemme see...

No.

SinglePringle · 18/05/2020 00:44

Lara is dull. Lemi looks like a spelling mistake.

Fenn is pretty. I like it.

Wren is of a similar vein and also pretty.

ElizabethMainwaring · 18/05/2020 00:35

Yes. Ian Kilminster RIP.

JassyRadlett · 18/05/2020 00:32

Lara is lovely. Lemi makes me thinks of Lemmywinks from South Park.

SionnachRua · 18/05/2020 00:30

Lemi makes me think of lemmings.
Lara is ok although popular enough.

What about Leonie? Very similar to Lemi.

Anoisagusaris · 18/05/2020 00:29

Lara is a beautiful name - makes me think of Lara in Dr Zhivago, one of my favourite films.

Lemi and Fenn are a bit try-hard and not very nice.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 18/05/2020 00:26

Lara is nice. Not used a lot at the moment, in my circle.

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 17/05/2020 23:14

Meant to add i like Finn of Quinn for a girl too

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 17/05/2020 23:13

If i met Lemi i would forever mentally add “...from Motorhead” on whenever her name was mentioned. Like your other two suggestions though.

Notso · 17/05/2020 22:57

I quite like Lemi. Fenn is nice too. They both seem a bit nick namey though.

I don't like Lara at all.

Magicbabywaves · 17/05/2020 22:49

Lemi might be unusual, but in a really basic way. What I mean is, it sort of sounds like a load of other fairly dull names, but isn’t even a name. Whereas a truly unusual name is one that exists and is known, but not often used. For example Araminta or Pandora. (These are examples, not suggestions).

Viviennemary · 17/05/2020 22:46

It's dire. Sorry.

Majorcollywobble · 17/05/2020 22:43

Lara is a lovely name . Wasn’t Lara a character in Dr Zhivago ?
Fenn makes me think of Fenn Wright Manson .
Lemi reminds me of the little furry critters who jump off cliffs .

IHateCoronavirus · 17/05/2020 22:39

Lara means penis in Nepal as far as I know

FizzyGreenWater · 17/05/2020 22:37

Lemmy Grin no you can't.

Oh dear God

cheeseycracker · 17/05/2020 22:14

Fenn?! No

Leni is cute

123Dancewithme · 17/05/2020 22:07

Lara is lovely.

You could have Clementine or Clemency nn Lemi?

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/05/2020 17:36

Lara is lovely. I have a friend called Fennel, who is called Fen for short.

Crikey0000 · 17/05/2020 16:52

She will have to explain any unusual name. Not sure why you would want to saddle a child with that mantle.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 17/05/2020 16:47

Don't like lemi or fenn, neither sound like names. Really like lara

Blursula · 17/05/2020 16:34

Love both Lara and Fenn! I know a little Fenn, she really suits it. Not so keen on Lemi, sorry
