Despite trying to shorten my girls short list, another one has come into the mix tonight..... Caitlin.
Popularity has dropped significantly over recent years.
Would pronounce the anglicised way.... kate-lyn.
What do we all think?
Thank you x

I like Chloe best out of your shortlist, with maybe Summer in second

summersun7 · 17/05/2020 16:03

Thank you all..... Updated shortlist:
• Caitlin
• Chloe
• Elodie
• Heidi
• Summer
Currently debating whether to add Tilly.....

There are an awful lot of little Caitlins about with a wide variety of spellings. ...

OptimisticSix · 17/05/2020 15:51

I like Caitlin but prefer the spelling Kaitlyn, not sure why... I aslo like the rest of your list except Millie as its really popular here and I constantly hear it shouted Grin

CurlyEndive · 17/05/2020 15:42

From your list, my favourites (in order) are Chloe, Summer, Caitlin.

ShirleyB25 · 17/05/2020 15:30

On your list so far - Caitlin wins for me by a country mile - gorgeous name.

Heidi is nice too (but not quite as nice)

Millie is okay - but I know loads of Millies and Tillies (short for Matilda) and some of them are canine.

summersun7 · 17/05/2020 15:24

@Spied Thank you! Its a name I never thought of before, until I heard the Radfords baby announcement. Its stuck in my mind since then and my fondness for it has just grown and grown. X

Love Elodie.

Spied · 17/05/2020 14:59
Grin He's got good taste.
summersun7 · 17/05/2020 14:52

Whilst trying out names my son has announced he doesn't like Elodie! Guess we may be scrapping that one off the list...... He says his favourite is Heidi xx

OP posts:
Spied · 17/05/2020 14:48

Heidi is my favourite by far.

summersun7 · 17/05/2020 14:44

@LotusClover Awwww thank you! I love them all for different reasons too so really hard to decide! Boys names are so much easier and literally only ever loved two! Haha!

userabcname · 17/05/2020 14:39

Caitlin is my favourite from all the names listed! It's lovely.

LotusClover · 17/05/2020 14:33

I adore every name on your shortlist @summersun7 - it would be difficult for me to choose between them as well. But I think my top two would be Heidi and Chloe.

Good luck ♡

30daysoflight · 17/05/2020 13:43

I have always loved the name x

YgritteSnow · 17/05/2020 13:43

I like Elodie. Was a contender for dd.

Blursula · 17/05/2020 13:40

I like Chloe - I feel like you don’t hear it much anymore.

Caitlin i see as a bit bland and clunky - just Kate and Lynn meshed together

summersun7 · 17/05/2020 13:32

Thank you all. Some mixed feedback but mostly quite positive.

My shortlist is now:
• Millie
• Heidi
• Elodie
• Chloe
• Summer
• Caitlin

So not very short! Struggling to cut it down as I like them all for different reasons. Just when I cut it down, I find another one too add!

I love Caitlin! I've never heard it pronounced any way other than "kate-lin" so I don't think pronunciation would be an issue. It's on a downward trajectory too, and is actually just outside the top 300 at the moment.

HoratioNightboy · 17/05/2020 01:20

Sorry but I think it's an ugly name no matter which pronunciation is used. I've never heard "Kate-lin" said without a glottal stop on the "t", making it even worse. I'd think again, OP.

Yoshinori · 17/05/2020 01:00

Not a fan but it’s a perfectly nice name !

tamsintamsout · 17/05/2020 00:24

I didn’t know it was pronounced any way but Kate-Lyn...

I think it’s a lovely name.

Mummyshark2018 · 16/05/2020 23:36

I love the name

123Dancewithme · 16/05/2020 23:34

Makes me think of Caitlin Jenner now.

Wolfgirrl · 16/05/2020 23:26

Its lovely. It is one of those names like Connor where nobody really notices the Irish thing, it's become a mainstream name over here as well. I would use it!
