What are your thoughts on the name Cassie? I like it but just not 100% sure, would love some opinions.

I like it but I personally don't like putting nicknames on the birth certificate, so I'd use it as the short form of a longer name (Cassandra, Casilda, Cassia, etc).

As a standalone name I prefer Casey.

midsomermurderess · 16/05/2020 16:19

I think it's a bit nothingy, especially if there isn't another name, eg Cassandra, she could fall back on. It's a bit sweet and twee but has no substance.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 16/05/2020 11:51

Love it

Mucklowe · 16/05/2020 11:04

It has an unpleasant hissy sound, and is always the name given to mean or horrible girls in books.

123Dancewithme · 16/05/2020 00:25

Cassia nn Cassie would be nice.

Cbeebiesrehab · 15/05/2020 23:29

Like Cassie but the only longer version I like is Cassia. All the others seem dated to me.

BestIsWest · 15/05/2020 23:18

It’s also a nickname for Catherine. My great aunt was Catherine known as Cassie. But I like it just as it is.

NoSauce · 15/05/2020 23:18

Cassia is better.

RaininSummer · 15/05/2020 23:16

Nice name esp with Cassidy or Cassia as full name.

TenThousandSpoons0 · 15/05/2020 23:15

I love it. Quite popular in Australia I think, which makes me less likely to use it (our older child’s name is also quite Aussie, and we are not!). Makes me think of outdoorsy surfy girl. Can be a nickname for Carys as well which I love.

whatausername · 15/05/2020 23:09

Very pretty and not super common. An established name and lovely as is. Doesn't feel like it's half a name as some -ie ending names do.

cyffredinol · 15/05/2020 22:16

Thank you all for your helpful replies.

I love it as it is, not as keen on Cassandra or Cassidy.

@missmouse101 I do love Cassia

I like it, and Cassidy

dementedma · 15/05/2020 20:37

I like it. Also like Connie

missmouse101 · 15/05/2020 20:29

I adore the name Cassia. So elegant and Cassie naturally comes as a nickname.

SionnachRua · 15/05/2020 20:28

Gorgeous name. I think I'd use it as a nickname with a full name though.

BabloHoney · 15/05/2020 20:26

Lovely. Perfect just on its own

Lifeaback · 15/05/2020 20:14

I like it and think it’s better on its own rather than a shortened version of Cassidy or Cassandra, neither of which are nice names

Ikeameatballs · 15/05/2020 20:07

I really like it but don’t like Cassandra or Cassidy.

Seetheprettysnowdrops · 15/05/2020 20:07

Cassie is a gorgeous name

I can't see Cassandra without pronouncing it in the style of Del Boy

Whatsyourflava · 15/05/2020 20:04

Sorry I think of Gassy after a big meal! Any other name options on your list

Pizzamyhart · 15/05/2020 20:02

Very bias as my name is Cassie and not short for anything, which I like as I'm not keen on Cassandra.

LuckyFlash · 15/05/2020 18:13

I LOVE Cassie. It’s on my list. Personally I would just use it as is, I don’t think it needs a longer version. It’s much nicer than Cassandra or Cassidy

LotusClover · 15/05/2020 17:37

I like it, it's very pretty and you don't hear it much these days. I'd use it as a nickname for Cassidy or Cassandra, but it works just fine as a name by itself.

Millie2013 · 15/05/2020 17:35

I like it (but have only known horses and dogs called Cassie, but don’t let that put you off Grin)
