Thank you for all of your comments. If we were to use August, we would use the nickname Gus. My son James we often call Jim. I personally like Jim and Gus.

Also I am aware that people wont use their full name. Hubby and I are just pondering ideas and combos, and putting the feelers out.

Why would OP need to shorten the name?

autumnkate · 15/05/2020 18:05

Henry/ Arthur/ Jude are so overdone imo

autumnkate · 15/05/2020 18:04

What would you shorten August to? Gus is cute. Arthur seems wet to me

HalfTermHalfTerm · 15/05/2020 17:56

Arthur August Henry.

Ideally Arthur Henry Jude (not necessarily in that particular order!) however, as I’m not keen on August and I would also assume that baby August was a girl!

Maybelatte · 15/05/2020 17:46

Arthur. August isn’t great as a name imo.

Cherrytangfastic · 15/05/2020 17:28

August Henry Jude.

Three of the five names on our name list, good choices! Grin

MikeUniformMike · 15/05/2020 16:55

I agree. Very few people use the full name.
It is usually Firstname Lastname. Even if double-barrelled the first of the two surnames is often dropped.

FizzyGreenWater · 15/05/2020 16:49

Be careful about always thinking of it as the full name. In 99% of situations it will be a case of Arthur, or August. Most people won't even know someone else's middle name.

In this case, 100% Arthur. August does sound good in the middle of a full name, but as just a first name? No. And with James? No!

Emmas85 · 15/05/2020 16:35

Jude August Henry. Love the name Jude.

emmathedilemma · 15/05/2020 16:30

Arthur Henry Jude
August is awful and doesn't flow with Arthur

Mucklowe · 15/05/2020 16:26

Just Arthur Henry.

August is awful, and more than one middle name is pretentious.

Spied · 15/05/2020 16:04

I like Jude.
I'd want to mix it up and prefer Jude August Henry.
Out of the two options though I'd go with August Henry Jude.

Ughmaybenot · 15/05/2020 16:00

Arthur is much nicer than August, but I like Henry Jude so id vote for Arthur Henry Jude.

MrsEricBana · 15/05/2020 15:59

August Henry Jude for me too. Absolutely love August.

MintyMurray17 · 15/05/2020 15:56

August Henry Jude has the edge👌

MikeUniformMike · 15/05/2020 15:34

Henry Arthur August

Arthur makes me think of Arthur Scargill.
August makes me think of Disgust, unless you are pronouncing it like the month. Augustus and Austin are nicer.

whatausername · 15/05/2020 14:06

August Henry Jude. Arthur's old hat by this point.

Quizeerascal · 15/05/2020 13:05

Arthur August Henry goes best with your DSs name I think

Orphlids · 15/05/2020 13:04

I prefer August. Much more exciting than Arthur, which I’m afraid I find very dull. Although, as PPs have said, Augustus might be one to consider, if it appeals to you - that sounds more masculine and weighty. But August has a lovely gentleness, which Augustus doesn’t.

Livpool · 15/05/2020 12:49

Henry Arthur Jude?

I love Jude though - we chose it for my DS

userabcname · 15/05/2020 12:44

I love the name August! So I vote for August Henry Jude.

Vellum · 15/05/2020 12:39

I think I'd prefer Augustus, which is I really like.

saylor · 15/05/2020 12:38

Arthur August Henry

Chocolatecake12 · 15/05/2020 12:38
