Elodie is my favourite from the list - pretty and different without being too unusual

Ellamab · 16/05/2020 07:18

Go with Heidi. Gorgeous name. Classic and not nicknamey. Goes well with Noah too.

Fifthtimelucky · 16/05/2020 06:52

I agree with a previous poster and would go for Amelia, with Millie as a nickname.

Two names for the price of one!

123Dancewithme · 16/05/2020 00:40

Noah and Summer

summersun7 · 15/05/2020 21:01

@FizzyGreenWater Thank you! Am loving Heidi and my son loves that one too! We may be onto something...... 😉

Ok - to whittle:

Millie: has been really popular, now seems naff. Is a nickname really. Not much to it at all.
Elodie: Ok, BUT she will basically join the thirty billion Ellies who now populate the nation's primary schools. No!
Heidi: amazing.
Chloe: really nice, bit 90s.
Summer: like it, don't love it, suspect you might fall out of love with it. Nickname - Sum? Sums? Hmm.

FizzyGreenWater · 15/05/2020 20:54

Oh Heidi definitely! Really lovely, very underused but everyone will know it, goes well with Noah. That's perfect.

summersun7 · 15/05/2020 20:16

Thank you all for your help so far. We have now managed to whittle our list down to:

• Millie
• Elodie
• Heidi
• Chloe
• Summer

But come to a bit of a stalemate now as not sure which others to take off.
Millie seems a really nice compromise between Matilda (Which I loved but now can't use), Tilly and a previous love Amelia.
I have known a couple of medical students and law students called Millie so don't think the name would hold her back.

Noah and Amelia - I feel this name will blend into the current fashion for Eva, Evie, Ava type names
Noah and Millie - Like Millie but the one I knew was short for Emily. Can’t imagine a grown woman as a Millie, feels twee
Noah and Tilly - same as above, needs to be short for something
Noah and Chloe - like it
Noah and Elodie - beautiful. Wouldn’t worry about your son not being able to pronounce it, he’ll manage it soon enough or she’ll have a sweet pseudonym for her first year of life Grin
Noah and Heidi - like it but again, find it a bit hard to imagine a 40 year old Heidi.
Noah and Bella - love Bella. I know one who is beautiful in mind and body! Makes me like the name even more
Noah and Summer - for some reason this combo is quite edgy and I can see Summer being a pretty cool girl/woman. I like it
Noah and Daisy - no. Cow.

In general, I quite like your names but I feel several suit children and not grown women, personally.

finallychangedmyusername · 15/05/2020 19:42

Noah and Heidi still gets my vote. Great choice. I also love Elodie though.

Millie, Tillie, Bella and Daisy are all a bit too cutesy for me. Fine for a toddler, but personally I wouldn't want to have these as my name (as an adult).

whatausername · 15/05/2020 19:38

In order of preference:
Summer
Daisy
gap
Chloe
Elodie (that name is going to everywhere!)

All the rest. Can't remember them. They're overdone and sliiiightly twee imo.

MaMaMyCorona · 15/05/2020 19:16

Heidi is my favorite

Nachonacho · 15/05/2020 19:14

Noah and Summer
Or
Noah and Heidi

summersun7 · 15/05/2020 19:13

Elodie worries me slightly as big brother Noah can't say it.
I know his opinion doesnt really matter, but I do think its important he is able to say his sisters name.

MikeUniformMike · 15/05/2020 15:43

Heidi

Noah and Amelia - Not keen on A-ME-lia
Noah and Millie - nice but nicknamey. Prefer Molly
Noah and Tilly - Not keen on Tilly
Noah and Chloe - Don't like Chloe and they'll be No & Chlo
Noah and Elodie - Elodie is a bit nothingy, yet another El- name, and probably more popular than you think
Noah and Heidi - like
Noah and Bella - ok
Noah and Summer - no
Noah and Daisy - ok

Edenember · 15/05/2020 14:53

Heidi for me x

summersun7 · 15/05/2020 14:51

17caterpillars1mouse Thank you for taking the time to explain your choices.
I think Millie is starting to steal my heart a little. So definitely feel its in the running. X

I'll personally cut out Tilly and Bella straight away as they are nn only to me

My favourites on your list are Chloe (lovely name, popular but has a classical feel about it and I personally don't know any little Chloe's under age 10 despite having two young children)

Millie, though I would prefer it as a nn for Millicent but I just find it a lovely name

Summer is also a guilty pleasure, but I did once meet an adult Summer and it didn't suit her at all, and seemed a bit silly, so that does put me off a bit

mylittleavalon · 15/05/2020 14:31

Another for Elodie and Heidi

Spied · 15/05/2020 14:30

Heidi or Bella really stand out for me.

You can scrap the rest when you've got two of my fav's on your listGrin

user1493494961 · 15/05/2020 14:29

Amelia, shortened to Millie.

zombiepara · 15/05/2020 14:27

Elodie and Heidi for me!

summersun7 · 15/05/2020 14:25

So far Elodie, Heidi and Summer are the favourites.
Thank you everyone who has contributed so far. Any further comments would be really appreciated.

I'm still with Noah and Heidi x

PissOffStayAtHomeDogMum · 15/05/2020 13:32

Lots of Elodies around at the moment, so I'd reject that one. Summer is a season, not a name, so I'd reject that one too (even though it's my favourite season).

Would probably also reject Chloe because there are too many "O" sounds in Noah and Chloe. And too many "a" sounds in No-ah and Bell-a.

Otherwise, all good!
