I'm trying to decide for a name for our baby boy, I don't know whether to go with Andrew as first name and then Noah in the middle? Or Noah as first name? Bennett is the surname I love both names Noah & Andrew but I don't know which name first. Can you help me out or give me any ideas or swap names around? Thanks.

I think Noah is marginally more interesting than Andrew.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 14/05/2020 22:36

Definitely Andrew. Far to many Noah’s around. Drew is a cool nickname for Andrew

GoFiguire · 13/05/2020 21:55

Gordon Bennett

Maybelatte · 13/05/2020 21:51

Initials really aren’t important, especially not the middle initial. Just go for it if you like it, I think it’s an inoffensive average name really.

CaptainBlunderpants · 12/05/2020 20:13

Noah is lovely. Noah Bennett works better than Andrew.

whichteaareyou · 12/05/2020 11:31

There's a reason why Andrew isn't used often.

OnABeachSomewhere · 12/05/2020 09:21

Andrew would make a refreshing change. It's classic but not much used at the moment.

finallychangedmyusername · 12/05/2020 09:10

Noah Andrew and Andrew Noah are both great options.

Personally I would find it very refreshing to hear of a baby Andrew (whereas Noahs are ten a plenty).

Whatsyourflava · 12/05/2020 08:58

I know quite a few adult Andrews, all of them have had their names shortened to Andy
If you don't like Andy I personally wouldn't use Andrew but that's just my opinion

Noah is lovely
Or are you not sure? Do you want more suggestions?

UnmightyBoosh · 12/05/2020 07:24

Noah Bennett was a character in Heroes, just FYI.

jennymac31 · 12/05/2020 07:17

Noah is a very popular boys name (decided against using it for my DS, even though it was 1st choice for several years) so I would go with Andrew as a first name.

Cindie943811A · 12/05/2020 00:37

I have a friend called Andrew and he is never called anything else

lmnoh · 11/05/2020 23:45

I have a Noah and I love saying it over and over and over and over and over 😂

toomuchteaandcake · 11/05/2020 23:43

My OH is Andrew and despite always referring to himself as Andrew and all social media emails etc being Andrew, and him telling people not to call him Andy, guess what... only me and his parents call him Andrew!

123Dancewithme · 11/05/2020 22:46

Definitely Andrew as the first name.

IcyWind · 11/05/2020 22:02

Andrew could be shortened to Drew

DramaAlpaca · 11/05/2020 22:01

Andrew is really lovely, an underused classic.

Noah is the whingiest name ever.

So Andrew Noah for me.

ClementineTangerine · 11/05/2020 21:38

Noah is lovely.

Strongly dislike Andrew I'd only use it as a middle name.

toastofthetown · 11/05/2020 21:33

Noah is a nice name, and I prefer it to Andrew. If you don't like Andy, I wouldn't go with Andrew. Yes, there are Andrew's who don't like a nickname, but there is no guarantee that you son will be one of them. You can only control his name for few short years, then it's his to do with as he likes.

daisypond · 11/05/2020 21:32

Andrew is definitely due a comeback - apart from Prince Andrew giving it negative vibes. I already know a baby Andrew. Noah is very dated and tired now.

Bertucci · 11/05/2020 21:30

I can't see Andrew is due a comeback. It's a bit Colin or Brian to me.

I love Noah - but it's so popular.

HopScotchHop · 11/05/2020 21:27

Andrew is lovely and refreshing on a little one. I know an incredible number of Noahs 8 and under. I really don’t think he will automatically get Andy at all. The Andrews I know have never been known as Andy.

Mucklowe · 11/05/2020 21:01

Andrew.

Noah is an awful name. Just an amorphous sound.

dementedma · 11/05/2020 20:48

Agree that he doesn't have to be Andy. Just dont accept an abbreviation.DS is Joseph. Not Joe. Joseph. He's 18 now and nobody calls him Joe. Its not his name
Andrew is lovely. There are loads of Noahs.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 11/05/2020 20:43

My uncle is Andrew known by both Andy and drew, it's up to him when he's older what he prefers. I really like the name noah but would be more refreshing to hear a baby andrew
